FM20.4 Cataphract
I have been playing the game since CM2. Over the years my approach to playing the game has changed and nowadays I either manage my local team in the English Conference North or manage a ‘big’ team but only using academy players (typically Ajax).
This tactic aims to provide the main requirements I have for this play style, which are:
1. Cover the most common positions on the pitch a new-gen player will be Natural in (I would like AMR/L, but cant get a balanced tactic when using these and AMC).
2. To be efficient for both easy and hard games, so it can be used when moving up through the divisions or in difficult European games).
3. To require little or no tweaking. I enjoy spending my time micro-managing the training and development of my academy players so don’t want to be spending time tweaking tactics (though I will for big games).
FM20 Build: 20.4.1 (ME 2040)
Formation: 4411
Description: This would probably be described as an underdog tactic. It is a fairly narrow, high tempo counter attacking tactic that provides balance between attack and defence.
I have been using versions of this tactic for a few months and have tested it in quite a few scenarios. Below are some tests and screenshots of testing in the EPL, with the big three and the small three (based on media prediction), from today.
The testing was all holiday simulated. I made no transfers and delegated all tasks to staff. I prevented injuries, but other than that the db was unaltered.
Expected points: average points during 10 season simulations while unemployed (with transfers and injuries frozen).
