Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working inside simatch.fmf, modifying a wide range of values to make the gameplay feel more realistic. After many hours/weeks of testing and experimenting, I finally discovered the correct offsets that actually influence the match engine — and I found quite a lot of them.
I haven’t tested every single one yet, but many of them already produced noticeable improvements in gameplay: player speed, defensive behaviour, referee decisions, AI reactions, and much more.
To make things easier for everyone, I created a tool that allows you to build your own gameplay style. You can experiment with different values, test your ideas, and shape the match engine the way you like. I’ve also included a V2 gameplay fmf file. Just press the Inject V2 button, then copy/paste the generated simatch.fmf from the output folder into your game directory.
Please remember: this is still a beta. Future updates will include proper naming for all parameters. If you’d like to support or help me with this project, feel free to send me a message.
This took a lot of work and even forced me to pause other projects like Footy Center, but we’ve already released several tools — and once everything comes together inside Footy Center, it’s going to be something truly special.
This is the first Match Engine Editor in the FM26 scene.
Download the file and start:
