As you may know, there is a slight lack of good fullbacks on the game if you are an average club with modest finances. This is a problem I had with Toulouse, with limited budget to bring in players. Also, I incorporated an 'old school' position, The Sweeper. A good Sweeper can very easily stop many attacks, and always stays back, giving you more freedom going forward, and allows the main backline to push up a little more.

I have used to good effect with Toulouse, and would like some people to try it with other Leagues and teams, so we can see the tactice versatility.

**Set in game instructions to retain possession, and also work ball into box

Thanks for trying it!!

plenty of decent fullbacks on a modest budget.... just theyre old haha

peter masilela LWB - 24 and turns out to be a decent player for most prem clubs
mariano pernia LWB
Noe Paramot DRLC
juliano belletti RWB
ruben bustos RWB

all should be got for under 1mil, and should come to mid championship teams and above

I personally use Pape Diakhate, but these are quite good too(all under 30yrs):
Felipe Baloy(Monterrey, 2m)
Edgar Duenas(Toluca, 3-3.5m)
Leobardo Lopez(Pachuca, 3.5m)
Andriy Rusol(Dnipro, 3.5m)
Javier Munoz Mustafa(Pachuca, 3.5m)
Steve von Bergen(Hertha BSC, 4.5m)

Out of those I prefer Rusol, has the better defensive stats.

They were friendlies, and I will be posting some more screens soon, as I am only 2 games into season. I have used this formation for 4 games in total, and has worked each time.

I personally try not to sign players over a certain age, but the reason I used this was that I have 7 players who can play at DC, and 2 at SW, whereas only 1 at DL, and 2 at DR. Also, this is a little different to the usual tactics.

Looks like it will be weak at the back? Have you tested these or have you had 5 games of success and posting them?

I tried something like that with Catania in Seria A for a bit. It worked well as most teams play a 4-3-1-2 so it made sure their attacking 3 didn't get any space in the middle.

Thats one of the main ideas. It can shut down so many teams in the final third, which is always good!

It is very strong at the back actually, as you have 3 DC and then a sweeper, you just sacrifice fullbacks for this, who are usually more attack-minded. I have tested this against a few teams, all with different styles, and i has worked well.
