So for the first time in FM14 i'm working on a 4-4-2 (Narrow Diamond) and since i never used 2 strikers in a tactic, i have no idea what would are the best roles for a 2 striker pairing. Right now i have both as Complete Forwards, one on support and one on attack..
I don't really want to use a poacher because they don't participate on the build up play, and i like my 11 players to be heavily involved in plays.

Trequartista (composure, passing, creativity, finishing, dribbling and pace, players like Aguero, Barbosa) & Complete Forward (needs pace/strength type players Lacina Traore, Romelu Lukaku) One attacking and the other supporting; either way.

One more creative and one goal thief.

I like dlf s and poacher or cf s and af (if i have better players)

I have used a 3-5-2 system and, more recently, a 5-3-2 with wing-backs and a Regista. I pair a False-9 with an Advanced Forward up-front, making sure that the AF lines-up on whichever side corresponds to his strongest foot; left-footers on the left and right-footers on the right. Having watched hundreds of matches in the Comprehensive view, I'm convinced that the player's accuracy of shooting is affected by his position in relation to the goalposts, relative to which is his stronger foot. You want left-footers running into the inside-left channel and right footers doing likewise on the other side.

If you're working 4-4-2, then you might also consider 4-4-1-1 with a Shadow Striker in the No.10 role, which has worked well for me. I've already written about it at some length on this Forum. I'd suggest you just read the opening post and see what you think before reading on:

I wrote that some time ago now but I'm still playing the same save. Just to prove that I know my FM stuff, this is what I've won to date:

You can use any pair that compliments each other. Big guy plus small guy if you want to rely on physicality in LLM, or a creator-scorer partnership more suitable for better teams. You can also do false nine-false ten combo, with one dropping deeper and one pushing up. You can even use 2 goalscorers if you have adequate creativity to supply them. Two creators might also work, but you will need support running from deep on other positions, preferably with finishing as primary attribute so they are the goalscorers. Of course, you will need to change your playing style to suit your roles, for example you may want to pass through defence using creators, or play on counter if using two goalscorers, or play to target man if using big man little man combo...

Perfection.

I've always had the most success with DLF(S) and Poacher

I use the same formation, loosely based on the "Danilo" tactic you can download from this site. I use "very fluid" and try to win the ball back quickly. My strikers are both set to false nine. Behind them I play an engache (considering some kind of AM). Behind him, two central midfielders on attack duty. Behind them, an anchor man, who I'm considering changing to a half-back.
Back four: dual CD(D) flanked by CWB(A), considering WB(A).

I like it because everyone tracks back to defend, and I can get 7 forward. It defends fairly well with "Counter" mentality, with pretty good attack, and with "Control" mentality, there are goals. Lots of goals. But everyone needs passing and tackling, and your front seven need decent finishing, as shots will come from all seven of them.

Like in the OP, if we're using an attacking mid (say set as support or as an Enganche) would it be fine to use BOTH strikers in attack modes? Especially if there's an Attacking Mid, or an AP from the CM position?
