2nd Season

i, i just finished a season with man city finished 4th and im in the holidays at the moment for my next season do i need to change any tactics or my formation because at the moment it is 4-2-2-2 with two attacking wingers, i am thinking about changing to 4-3-1-2 but will that make my team worse as they arent used to it? Or shall i keep 4-2-2-2, also is there anything else i need to change? I thought i heard somewhere about needing to change a few tactics around in the second season as teams might be used to your tactics and might be able to counter it.
