I'm about to create a variant of my 4-3-3 tactic, using a 4-2-3-1 formation, although I dont know what to do about my midfield. The 2 choices are:

2 DMs and a AMC
2 CMs and a AMC

Which is beneficial to a possesion-style tactic? and what roles would you suggest?

Both are equally valid, so it comes down to the personell you have.

2 CMs as they would be more use to keeping possesion while a DM is more use to putting in tackles and headers

One Advanced Playermaker>support and the the other Deep Lying Playermaker> Defend

You could do one off both like one playing off the other sort-off thing

I currently have Rodwell, Hamsik, Vidal, Fellaini, Barkley, Cahill

GK: GK (defend)
FB's: Fullback (auto)
DC's: Ball playing defenders (defend)/Central defenders (defend/stopper/cover, depending on your preference)
MCr: Box to box (support)
MCl: Deep lying playmaker (defend)
AMR: Inside forward (attack)/Winger (attack)
AML: Advanced playmaker (attack)/Winger support
AMC: Attacking midfielder (attack)
ST: Complete forward (attack)/ Poacher

or alternatively:

GK: GK (defend)
FBR: Fullback (auto)
FBL: Wingback ( dont get this confused, he is in the fullback position, but with the wingback role (auto) - set to cross at the byline
DC's: Ball playing defenders (defend)/Central defenders, again take your pick
MCR: Central Mid (defend)
MCL: Deep lying playmaker (support)
AMR: Inside forward (attack)
AML: Advanced playmaker (attack)
AMC: Advanced playmaker (support)
ST: Complete forward (attack)/Poacher/Advanced Forward/False Nine (Complete Forward support, but with RFD rarely)

Thanks guy this helped a lot =]

Can this be released sooner than later????

Thanks

Erm... well the save I was planning on using it with Everton had a tycoon takeover therefore with the players i'd use wouldnt give good results with the tactic. Any teams you would like me to test it with once im done?

Montpellier Herault SC in the French League 1

They will suit this formation to a tee
