Hey all,

Been swtiching some between tactics, and are currently using a 4231 tactic.

My first 11 is this,

Dzeko

Jovetic Gourcuff Arshavin

Veloso Fabregas

Clichy Vermaelen Kjaer Eboue

Almunia

First question, how do i setup my single forward? When i play Dzeko, i usually play target man attack..But i also switch in Walcott and RVP, setting them to poacher attack. Im really lost how to setup my forwards, so a yay or nay would be good.

Second question, how do i play my AMCs. Gourcuff i play as advanced playmaker attack, and the others as attacking AMC. Should i put the wingers to cut inside, or inside forward. As of now, i have em to move into channels. How do i sort out the Attack and Support. Should they all be attack?

Third question, my two MC. I play one Support and one attack. Veloso support, and fabregas attack. Veloso as box to box, and fabregas as adv playjmaker. If i use Gourcuff as a adv playmaker, should i change Fabregas to a box to box support aswell?

As for the defense. Its solid, Almunia aint to great, and been working on getting another goalie, but all the good ones are really expensive.

Any suggestions or thoughts regarding this tactic is welcomed. Im playing my third season and im ready to start winning something, and i feel i have good enough players to do so..

Thanks!

A sole striker usually does best as a Target Man or Complete Forward. He is up there on his own. Poacher is more of a complimentary role.

For the Attacking half of the middle of the park, it depends on where they are situated and what you want to achieve. If you want your wider players to play more like attacking midfielders than inside forward is the best role for them, Inside forwards are also better with a "play through the middle" option. If you want to play a wide expansive game with wingers whipping the ball into the box for a big man then it is obvious you want wingers..

Really you have to think about what you want those three players to achieve, and which role is best suited for what you want them to do. As for mentalities...It is best to have at least one of the three or more on a support role. It gives you a connector from the deeper midfield to the more advanced midfield.

As for Gorcuff I think I saw someone played him as an inside forward, centrally and he did very well.

It is also best to have only one advanced playmaker. Fabregas does perform very well as a Box-Box guy, and you can tweak the individual setting of Veloso and Fab so that they do some slighty different things.

Great thanks for the reply. Im currently using a narrow formation with balls going through the middle. So i obviously dont want me AML and AMR to be wingers. Mayby i should just switch one of em to support, and both of them to inside forward or cut inside.

When using Walcott or RVP, should i still play target man, as i really dont know if they fit that role at all??? Also, playing narrow through the middle, is dzeko shorthanded? I get the impression he might be better with wingers feeding him crosses for him to use his good header ability on.

As for Veloso and Fabregas..I could propably go with em both as Box to box, but mayby use Fabregas as attack and Veloso as support, will haft to figure that out. Clear is, that veloso should be high up there with long shots and Fabregas will not..

Jovetic and Arshavin are typical inside forwards.

I'd still back down from "cuts inside".

Wide play : Move into CHANNELS.

Cross ball : SOMETIMES.

Play them with often forward runs, and sometimes run with the ball, sometimes through balls.

Try this.

Thanks for your input. I will try this out. I have a very similar setup right now, but with only one inside forward, will change it to two and move into channels.

My MC. What should i set em as in regards to run with ball, through balls ect?? I really want Fabregas to perform, what is the best setup with him if i want him to be my connector from defense to midfield but also creating havoc upfront.

That is a tough one...Box to Box is the only real preset role that would do that, but you would need to tweak it a lot. Or you could try to teach him "comes deep to get the ball" and play him as a CM Attacking and see if that works.

I could try learning him that true. All in all, i propably haft to fiddle around some. On another note regarding Fabregas. Just me, or does he wear down alot? Ive started using him as a sub at half time, since if i start him, i always haft to sub him because his stamina is so low.
