Hey guys! I am trying to make my own tactic for the first time. It's based around Man Utd really, but the point is I want it to work with any team and rather than build the tactic around players, build players around the tactic. If that makes sense. I haven't tested it yet, just wondered if there were any obvious improvements or things i've overlooked. The idea is very attacking possession based football. Defense would be nice but as long as I can outscore opponents it's all good. Planning on it being plug n play if that helps.

Currently I have:
Goalkeeper - Defend
Left Full Back - Attack
Centre Backs - Defend
Right Full Back - Attack
Left CM - Support
Right CM - Defend
Attacking Left Winger - Attack
Advanced Playmaker - Support
Attacking Right Winger - Attack
Deep Lying Forward - Attack

Mentality: Attacking
Fluidity: Balanced

Shouts:
Retain Posession
Shorter Passing
Work Ball into Box
Run at Defense
Look for Overlap
Hassle Opponents
Stay On Feet
Use Tighter Marking
Higher Tempo
Be More Expressive

Thanks for any help, sorry if i've not been clear or am being a noob. Genuinely the first time i've tried making my own and it looks like it will work but just in case there's any obvious glaring errors I thought i'd check with you guys.

My pre season results have been ok but nothing special. Is there any advice here or is it just about adjusting to the formation for now?

Hey guys so this tactic has worked very well so far. There are definitely improvements to be made though. The wingers and striker are working very well. My set pieces are working really well (short option corner and just default throws and free kicks) The midfield seems to be working ok but could perhaps need tweaking. Full backs and defenders are fine.

Just to go through 3 of them. I'll show you Liverpool, Arsenal and Hull

This tactic is getting a lot of possession, even away to Arsenal who play with possession it got 50%. Very few long range shots, which has been bothering me with any other tactic I use. Lots of Free Kicks, 14 against Hull, 25 against Arsenal and 22 against Liverpool. The problem i'm having is very few CCC's, a few Half chances and not much else. A decent number of shots though and the majority from close in and on target, game/form depending.

I'm also conceeding a lot of goals. Well, more than I would like anyway. A couple of the games have seemed too close considering we had possession and were better at attacking.

Any help is welcomed. This hasn't got any replies so far, so if it still doesn't I guess i'll just give up and look through threads for advice given to others :S which is kind of how I made this tactic in the first place.

some nice results you got there, I dont think you are conceeding a lot. Only 4 goals conceeded and 6 cleansheets in 8 games.
If you feel the defence is too open, try changing one of the FB to Support or Defend? You have both of them on Attack, tat might leave gaps.

Alternatively, try pulling a CM back into DM position?
I use a HB and allow 1 CWB to move forward. That way I'm still tight at the back.

Yea sorry I didn't mean conceeding too much, just that I felt I was more open at the back than I should be and that the goals I have conceeded were goals I shouldn't be. Also quite a few of the games I won were tighter than they should have been, even if the scoreline didn't necessarily show that.

Well I want to keep the fullbacks as they are since that is kind of how I wanted them to work, and they are working really well.

I have a CM on defend and the other on Support to try and keep shape in the middle, I went for that rather than a CDM and a CM because I didn't want to be over run in the centre. I also have my CAM on support.

Essentially I was hoping this to cause the CM defend to stay back and help cover without staying out of the attacking game altogether. Whilst the support to do something similar but further up the pitch and the CAM to carve out passes to the wingers/fullbacks who will hopefully send in a cross to the forward. Or something similar anyway. I just don't want the midfield to split into 3 different entities and would rather them work together whilst still keeping to the roles I need, which this basically does but it just lacks a bit. I feel like a slight tweak may be needed either in the shouts or the roles.

Would having both CM on defend help or would that separate my midfield from my attack? alternatively would having both midfielders on support, leave me even more open in defense?

I may just be looking for improvements where some aren't actually needed though, I just sense someone with more knowledge (which is pretty much everyone reading this) would be able to advise.
