As a couple of you have asked to see the tactic used i would be more than happy to help. I will show you every component you could possibly need to re-create it. But for your ease there is a download link at the bottom, have a read through first and see if you would like to try it for yourself
I stumbled across this formation becuase of complete luck. i used to play a 442 but my right winger got injured so i had to replace him and thought id try something different. i had no idea i would come across a tactic that scored goals freely while staying defensively strong at the back. obviously, it takes good players to play the roles correctly but we'll get onto that later.
im not very good with explaining things so ill upload pictures that show everything you will need
Fundamentally, its a 4-3-1-2 varient. with the 1 being a AMR instead of a AMC just behind two strikers. as shown below.
Training and Match Prep
i change my match preparation each month. at the start of the season i use team blend if i have made signings or changed anything. the rest of the season will be a chop and change of attacking/defensive movement.
Try and aim to get the rating of your training to a minimum of 3 1/2 stars but ideally 4* if your managing a top 4 club. I dont change any of the schedules because its very time consuming, it hasnt seemed to make a difference, just make sure that during pre-season you up the work load to just touching heavy and then move it down to mid medium during the season to avoid injuries.
Care of your squad
After each game, make sure you give the team at least a day off training but you can increase it depending on if they look particularly jaded. You do not want to go into the next match with their condition being lower than 95%.
Interact with them on a regular basis and tell them if they have performed well, or if they havent impressed you. This will build a rappor up your players and they will want to impress you in every game.
Team talks are extremely important in the way your team plays and I dont think people use it effectively. Change it up and dont go the same route everytime. I cant tell you what team talks to use as I do not know what type of squad you have (dedication/professional) etc. Use your own judgement but don't ever not give them one.
The Tactic
As I said before its a varient of the 4-3-1-2 formation with an AMR instead of an AMC.Im going to begin showing you the tactic by working my way through the positions from defence to attack.
LWB
CB x 2. They are both the same so i wont upload to identical pictures
RWB
Midfield
The midfield has a LM who plays as a winger, two CM which consist of a ball winning midfielder and an advanced playmaker and finally an AMR who is also an advanced playmaker. Alongside the pictures of the roles I ask them to play I have also placed one of the key attributes needed for that player to play the role successfully. This way, you'll know what your looking out for when going into the market for certain players.
LW
LCM (ball winning)
RCM (advanced playmaker)
AMR
Strikers
Onto the fun part, the goal scorers. I have been blessed with two of what I can only describe as lethal strikers. Hernandez and Rooney. Individually they are brilliant, put them together they just tear up defences. The deep lying forward finds pockets to sit in that the defenders just cannot pick him up, it allows Hernandez to run in behind them and do what he does best. Score. A lot. He has scored 60 goals in all competitions, including 24 goals in 25 starts in the league and 28 goals from 11 starts in the CL. Rooney isn't doing too bad but leads the clubs assist chart with 37.
STCL (deep lying forward)
STCR (poacher)
The acomplishments
This all together has allowed me to win games comfortably both in Europe and in the Domestic leagues and cups. Going on a 24 match unbeaten run and winning 20 of them, getting the highest ever points total of 98 points and the highest ever goals scored (107 goals) in the same season. Won the EPL 3 years on the trot. Won the CL last year and am also on course to retain. Also won the FA cup last year and came runners up in the League Cup. On the downsides, I lost both the Super Cup and the Club World Championship on penalties. Hernandez, Rooney, Modric and Pastore were injured so I had to play a much weakened side.
