OK guys, I'll present to you my first tactic for FM10.I started playing in Romania First League with my beloved team U Craiova and after 1 season I pulled up a tactic that I'm finally pleased with.I managed to finish my first season on 5th place after a good fight for the title and I won the Romanian Cup.In my second season after 10 games I'm second after Steaua Bucharest and I qualified for Europe League Groups where I hold up a draw at Sporting CP and win against Partizan Belgrad at home, so I have to say thet I'm pretty pleased with the tactic so far.
The tactic is a 4-4-2 attacking formation with fluid philosophy, direct passing, more expresive creative play and cautios tackling so I won't give away to many free an penalty kicks.
GK
2x DC
2x Wing Back
1x DM
1x MC
2x Defensive Wingers
2x SC
I have to say that my team is a mid table team and my players are not world class, so I hope the tactic will work better at top teams.
As for the players, the DM is set as an Archor Man, so the player you'll place there must have the required atributes as it has a very important role in the tactic, winning tones of balls and sometimes even goes for long range shots so if he has good long shots it's a bonus for your team.
The SC's are set to swap position between them frequently, one of my SC has good Acceleration and Pace and it plays great so if you have a player like that in the squad is very good.
OI: I don't usually set up OI, but when the opponent is a lot better than me I put a close guard to their "danger man" and somethimes on their Wingers an MC's.
Danger Man - Thight Marking
Weaker Foot
Hard Tackling
Wingers - Close Down
Weaker Foot
MC's - Close Down
Now, in the end, you'll allways have to read the pre-match Back Room advice as your staff offers you valuable information about your opponent.Allways trust your staff advices and when it offers you info about D-line, width and tempo change them as your coaches tell you.As I've seen so far, the FM10 ME is a little bit changed than the previsious versions, and no tactic will guarantee you succes even against small teams, listening to your staff and changing the D-line, width and tempo as they say proves to be a match winner. When they don't give you this info it's a lot harder and you'll see that the team will struglle. If so, you must tweak the 3 bars in-game untill you'll manage to take control of the game.
The attacking mentality won't allways work, when it doesn't change it to "control", eventually you'll push them back into their own area and brake their defense slowly, calmly.
If the opposition gets to much chances, narrow your team so you'll close the gaps between your players.Hoppefully this will work.
Keep in mind, FM10 is a lot "smarter" than it's previsious "brothers" so the more open minded and "flexible" you are in using yout Touchline Instructions the more chances you have to win a game.
