Hi All,

Just wanted to share a tactic from the steam workshop that has brought me great success so far, and I'm sure most of you have probably already seen it. It uses my favourite formation and roles :). There's currently 199 comments about this tactic in the workshop and most are positive! I've also had permission from Batty to post it here.

The above is now out of date - will post a screenshot of the updated tactic.
(AML is now a Winger, F9 is now an Advanced Forward, FBs are now Inverted Wing Backs)

I've put in some screenshots of recent matches with my Real Madrid team (though a little weakened) but as you can see the tactic still has great possession (60+) and plenty of shots!

I've now added new set pieces to it (corner exploit taken from TFF's Monstrous tactic) and the "updated" tactic can be found below:
COMING SOON
My screenshots above were taken before adding them.

Tips:

  • Your LB/RB take the corners (whoever has the highest corner taking attribute).
  • Morale is important - keep it up! (Not just for the ladies...)
  • I've gone for a minimized pitch but others need to be tested.
  • Try the ST as a Poacher if you haven't got an F9.
  • Highlights should be on extended at least.
  • Opposition Instructions: I've been letting my assistant do them - Mauro Tassotti. I wouldn't use them unless you have an assistant manager with decent tactical knowledge.
  • Match Prep - look at the scout report / 90% Attacking Movement.
  • General Training - I usually rotate this every month.

Interesting, I'll try this out. Been looking for a more creative 4-3-3

You don't have issues with three playmakers in your midfield?

Hi Herowolf. Started first season with Southampton and going good so far. Good tactic.

That's a brilliant start!! Hopefully it goes even better for you when J-Rod is back. Did you buy any players?

Watching on extended highlights I haven't seen them have issues and instead they link up quite nicely :)

I use a similar setup but struggling to get goals from my front man how do the strikers get on in this one

It really depends on your striker. Klose got 18 in 27 games, Jese got 9 in 13, while Ronaldo just demolished when ever he was an F9 but I can't say his ratio due to also scoring a load as an IF.

Hi dude, this looks good indeed. I'll give it a shot when I'm on fm next.Just one question, why do you recommend using at least extended highlights? What effect does that have on the tactic? Cheers

It's so you can get a better understanding of what is happening during the match. Sometimes one player can be having a dreadful game and it makes it a bit easier to spot him.

Cheers dude, I'm going to give this a shot. Do you change anything for away games or hard games? Or do you change mentality if you are holding on to a lead or anything?

Wow, absolutely brilliant so far, using it with Arsenal at the moment.
It's giving me enough confidence to even start some of my younger players already such as Bellerin, Coquelin etc.

Scores lots of goals and keeping alot of clean sheets, i'm using Sanchez and Giroud in rotation at the false 9 role and both scoring for fun! Lots of assists from Ozil as advanced playmaker too, getting alot of goals from corners, especially from whoever plays my DM at the time.

I don't change anything :) - just use it as it is.

I'm glad it's going really well for you :). You'll have to keep my up to date as your season progresses!

Currently testing the 41122 which is going well :) Will post some results tonight when fully fluid.

Reckon switching the false 9 to a complete forward could work?
