I'll start by saying I don't think there is a hardware issue - but am willing to accept it's a possibility.
I'm using a 2012 Dell laptop, which has run FM12 through to FM17. The game in question is FM17 in year 2023. The game it's self works fine. There is no lag on the match engine (I am even able to watch match fine through TeamViewer), general clicking around is not laboured and at the start all was well. However, I think, at the start I made the potential database size too big, and that is now causing the match day processing to take a very long time. Just now I went on holiday for a week and it took 20+ minutes.
The game in question is a network game but the 20 min example above was before the other player connected. During preseason, friendly match days (even when on hol) also take a long time, as do International breaks.
We currently have a number of leagues running "view only" (Bra, Arg, Rus, Ukr, Belg, Aus, Switz... etc etc) and Eng 1 & 2, Fra 1 & 2, Spa 1 & 2, Hol 1, Ita 1 & 2 and Ger 1, 2 & 3 running as available to manage.
The Approximate player count is 38,000. Computer Performance is 4* and Estimated Game Speed is 5*.
But there is still the lengthy processing time which has steadily taken longer and longer.
I am aware of add/remove leagues, but I'm not sure how best to go about it here. We're happy to remove the excess 'fat' as it were, but is that possible without adding all the said leagues for an entire season before discarding them?
Help and suggestions welcome.
