Hi FM Base! :)

I just entered the summer transfer window, signaling the start of my 3rd season.
Moments ago, I managed to clinch a new contract deal with my star player Gabriel Barbosa, raising his release clause to 90m pounds, hopefully warding off most of his many suitors (who were about ready to pay up the 51m prior release clause).
This, probably due to a ridiculous loyalty bonus of about 10m, put my wage budget 200k into the negative.

On top of the initial season budgets, I have just sold a ton of players, skyrocketing my transfer budget to 75 million pounds.

Normally I would say; all good, I can keep my player on this new, huge deal, and can just adjust the budgets to be in the green again, but it seems I am unable. I can only adjust one "tick" either way from my current budgets, and I am unsure why this is the case. I was hoping to sign a couple of new players for the team after prolonging Barbosa's contract.

I overrode my save, so I cannot undo what was done, but I wonder if there is anything I can do at all from here, except for waiting for the inevitable transfer embargo I will meet because of mismanaging my wage budget so badly.. I expect that I can ask for an increased wage budget later in the season, but I doubt it will solve my current issue - or should it? oO)

Is this a bug, or does it sound like regular game behaviour?
To me it seems a huge problem, as it is my team's great performances that made my low-waged players become worth millions, meaning there's a huge disconnect now between my transfer and wage budgets.

If it is of any importance, I am playing with Southampton, beginning of 3rd season, and my team is now 4,5 stars in "Reputation", meaning I should think that, due to this stature, I would have more control over these things.. :S

It's sounds to me that the Board is telling you that you're paying too much on wages since they're not willing to increase the budget. They don't want tot have to consistently meet those wages every year and are not letting you allocate that amount since it'll cost them too much money.

I'm unable to follow that logic. There was a huge profit earned throughout the past two seasons, as I somehow managed to land champion's league spots for Southamption in two consequetive seasons. In the financial fair play summaries, it's stated profits of 90 million pounds, where a loss of 15m or more would have consequences.

I should think, with this money-machine like profitability, that I would be allowed to invest more into wages than is the currently the case? :/

Hahaa! My issue was actually the difference between Wage Budget and Committed Spending, which was due to a pending transfer of Laporte, who then ended up picking Arsenal.
After this, my Available Wage Budget was suddenly 50k, which befitted the slight wage rise I gave Barbosa, and I was able to continue the game as per usual.

A note in my Financial tab states that the board is unwilling to raise my Wage Budget as they "feel it is high enough". Despite this, over the pre-season days, I see my transfer budget slowly pouring into my Wage budget for whatever reason - either way: I'm happy about it!
Consider the case closed. ^^)
