First up, I like how they've made the amount of goals players score more realistic in FM11, no longer do I have Torres hitting 40 goals in 28 appearances ... Or am I just doing it wrong?

When it comes to one on ones however, I'm not so impressed. Do tactics effect these situations? Between my strikers (Torres, Kadlec, Ngog, Lukaku) I have lost out to over 40 one-on-one situations throughout season, with more than half falling to Torres, not a single one-on-one scored.

Is this game mechanics?
 
I think it is a mixture of form, morale, board pressure and teamates that effect this. You have 4 strikers, he might be feeling extra pressure...
 
Form over the season is 7.64, current is 7.80, morale is Superb, no board pressure, were winning what we should be, maybe the 4 strikers, yet hes always first choice? He's just missed 4 one-on-ones in FA Cup Final alone ... just very unrealistic I think, if Torres was in a one-on-one with any keeper you'd bet your house he'd score!
 
I support Liverpool, and, with smith skills that he has, he should be scoring everytime. Maybe his luck, isn't good enough...
 
Well then its not very realistic when hes creating 4 one on one chances in a cup final. But i agree that the goal ratio for players has improved.... Dont know what you could do about the problem though :(
 
It just struck me as strange that Torres only hit 17 in 38 games, but in less games Ngog and Kadlec scored 22 and 19 goals respectively.
 
Yea, Im getting the goals i need, plenty from midfield as well, but i want el nino firing on all cylinders, im actually considering selling him now ive brought tevez in, and bringing in a striker who actually scores goals!
 
In 2010-11 season Torres scored 38 in 32 games in the league, 58 in 58 overall. This season has 29 in 20.

well, in my save, Torres is ******' awesome... hes leading scorer of almost everything... and l'pool aint that successfull :/ third in league and qf of ecl...
 
torres started very well on mine had about 16 in 20 for me but then went on a 4 or 5 game spell without scoring. then i bought a new computer and stopped playing that career :D
 
Torres is dodgy on mine aswell. Normally he does **** while he's at Liverpool, but if he moves elsewhere he starts banging the goals back in.
 
Thinking i may cash in on him, not even giving a performance now, had a private chat, but apparantly hes playing will with an average rating of 6.40 ... or so he claims (Come on sports interactive!)

How are you all handling him to get goals out of the sexy beast?
 
I played him as poacher. Had Kadlec and Lukaku but Torres only plays well as lone striker.
 
In my save Torres scored only 29 goals entire season but gives a lot of assists(24) and wins a lot of penalties(7). Don't sell him use him as a complete striker(left side) if playing with 2 strikers. He scores valuable goals and provides assist all the time so you wont mind his low scoring rate!! :)
 
Pressure him to tell him his performances aren't good enough.
Also, in the same meeting, tell him to place his shots...

Interact with player on the attribute screen. :D
