I have a good idea for a football manager save and will do this:

I am going to edit my database with East Stirling, who play in the fourth tier (division 3) of Scottish football.

I am going to add a mass influx of talented 14 year olds. I am going to name them in honour of Scottish football legends. I would also like to watch my squad get selected for Scotland duty.
This means I could have a squad of familiar players such as:
manager save and will do this:

Alan Rough, Richard Gough, Alan Hansen, Jimmy Johnstone, Graeme Souness, Ally McCoist, Joe Jordan & Archie Gemmell.

my problem with this is there is no way that you will keep hold of them as a small club. bids will come in from big clubs and the board will accept on your behalf

This will be a quick story.I don't see it lasting for very long.

The thing is i'll have a very good squad, possibly the best in Scotland, that means that I can qualify for Europe if I reach the Scottish Cup final, which will keep me occupied for the following season.
And I have tied the players up (edited) to very long term deals so deals will only be accepted by the board if they are too good.
*I will soon post my first screenshot of my starting 11 although I haven't finished editing yet

OK, I have just finished editing and have a team of Scottish Legends. Have named my manager Alex Ferguson (H)

Can't get screenshot to work but here is my lineup

Rough

Gough McLeish Hansen

Johnstone Souness Bremner Strachan

Dalglish Law McCoist

Made a mistake while editing and made all the players injury prone and about 2 players get put out for months each game, very annoying, won every game so far, convincingly but, I am about to play Rangers, yes, Glasgow Rangers in the Cup so that will easily be my hardest game yet and will be an indication to how good we really are, about 5 players out but, can McCoist crush his former club?
Hope home advantage will help.
Will post result in a few mins :)

use fmrte to edit their injury proneness

Due to injury prone-ness :P, I had to start the game with 3 non-edited, East Stirling defenders, I still played 3 at the back, risky but protected by the man himself, Graeme Souness.
Shockingly, we took the lead through an Ally McCoist penalty.

Full time East Stirling 1-0 Glasgow Rangers

McCoist (20) Yahoo! 3rd Division leaders beat the SPL leaders.

Amazingly, 1964 fans squeezed into a 626 seated capacity stadium. Now that's Cup Fever!

With all of my edited players being called up, I felt the full wrath of what can happen without them. I was playing Dundee in the cup (2 leagues above me).
I lost my first ever game as East Stirling manager and they pumped me 3-0.
