This is my first story i have read a few on this site and wanted to attempt my own, any feedback would be much appreciated.

Today on Merseyside at Goodison Park, a press conference is called by Everton chairman Bill Kenwright.
Kenwright announced the appointment of young English manager, Dom Long. The Everton chairman stated " this appointment is a new chapter in the clubs history".

Long's appointment is met with concerns of the young managers inexperience in management and the premier league by pundits press and the fans. All are willing to give the Mr Long time to prove himself in Goodison hot seat, but all warn he better do it quickly or face the chop. The bookies have made Long the leading candidate in the premier league sack race priced at 4/7 to be first dismissed. In Longs address to press in attendance stated " I am delighted to be here at Everton, A club with such rich history, Passionate fans and success within the premier league. I will continue the foundations of the previous regimes, whilst bringing my own brand of football to the club".

The first assignment for young manager is to evaluate his squad and make decisions in improving the squad and development of young players.

Next update will be after pre-season is completed and along with ingoing and outgoing transfers.

As i stated earlier any feedback would be great.

Post Pre-Season Update

The expectation amongst the Goodison faithful is to compete this season for a place in the Europa league to achieve this a top 6 finish is required. pundits and bookies expect Longs team to be in the mix for the Europa league places based on their current squad. The Everton board have agreed a budget of 12.4 million pounds and a maximum wage budget of 1.1 million pounds.

Rumours are speculating over Longs transfer targets, experts believe Everton squad lacks some quality in midfield positions and possibly the defence. Long refused to confirm the rumours regarding his targets and current squad. Sources believe a transfer bid from CSKA Moscow was rejected after negotiations fell apart for Costa Rican left sided defender Oviado.

Transfer news: Everton sign 28 year old right sided player Juanfran, from Athletico Madrid, who is transfer listed at the Vincente Calderon. The fee is belived to be 3 million pounds. Another deal was completed for Gauso from Sau Paulo in Brazil for 3.5 million pounds a midfielder tipped to have a bright future.

Everton have announced a partnership with Philadelphia Union from the MLS who have Great training facilities and a excellent youth system. Philadelphia founded in 2010 are yet to win any honours in MLS. The partnership has been formed to increase Everton's profile in United States and expand their network of footballing talents.

Tactics that will be used.

Everton played eight friendlies in Pre-Season, winning 5 of these matches and drawing 3.

Next up is the premier league opening games my next update will be after completing September in the season so a fair few games to come. as always feedback is welcome!

MOM: Kevin Mirallas, Who assisted Everton's first goal and added a goal for himself from the right wing.

The next opposition for the Toffees is a home game against Southampton, Long names a unchanged starting line-up from last week meaning Ganso has to settle for place on bench again.

Everton's attacking football provides a early goal for Romelu Lukaku to put toffees ahead. Despite some dominance by Everton the score remains 1-0 until half time. Long is forced to make a couple of changes due to a injury. Mirallas changes flank, Juanfran is pushed forward and Osman replaces him in right back for Pienaar. A sloppy pass on 63 by Distin allows Waynama to capitalise and score a powerful shot from the edge of the box to level the score. Mirallas and Juanfran waste good chances to give Everton the lead late on but the Toffees have to settle for point.

Mom: James McCarthy controlling the midfield for Everton by breaking up play and passing efficiently.

Everton next sees them entertain in Capital One Cup against Leyton Orient, Several changes are made to Long's starting line-up.

Everton dominated the majority of the match, The inspired O's keeper kept the score respectable for the league 1 side. Everton registered a 2-0 win to progress to the third round of the tournament.

MOM: Seamus Coleman strong performance at right back

A trip to Brittania to face Mark Hughes's Stoke Side is next in the calender for Everton before the September International Break.

A Scrappy game at Brittiania staduim sees Everton and Stoke play out a draw meaning the merseysiders end the month unbeaten in 6th place on 5 points from 3 games. The game was very stop sart due to niggling little fouls by both sides.

Mom:Romelu Lukaku leading the front line and bagging himself a goal.

Everton's first game back after the september international break is an away game to West Brom.

It took a headed finish from a set piece to give Everton the slim victory by Distin. Victory for Everton also handed ended West Brom's Unbeaten start to the season.

MOM: Sylvain Distin showing a strong defensive performance by controlling the line and heading the winner for his team.

The next week for Long's Everton squad provides back to back against Chelsea in the league and cup respectively.

MOM: James McCarthy A good performance from the middle of the park by breaking up oppositions play and passing nicely.

3 Days later saw Everton travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea again. Everton will have to continue with ineligible Lukaku who is unable to play against his parent club. A incredibly even typically Scrappy cup Tie at the Bridge saw the game complete the regulation 90 mins without either side find a way to break the deadlock and claim a safe passage to the next round of the Capital Cup. The additional 30 mins of extra time failed to provide spectators a victor meaning the tie was going to have to be settled from the spot.

Chelsea progressed after Leon Osman missed his penalty by striking it straight at Cech.

With the season well underway by this stage, Everton are lingering around where pundits and experts belive where the Toffees would be predicted to finish.
