Mann appointed manager as O'Driscoll leaves for Forest!
Crawley Town have today announced that Jason Mann, a relatively unknown manager from the North East, has been given a two year contract as manager of the club.
Former manager Sean O'Driscoll left for Championship side Nottingham Forest - despite only being in the job for four days. Forest have recently been taking over by rich owners and Sean stated he couldn't wait to finally get his hands on money to buy some of the football leagues' hottest prospects.
Just hours after the experienced O'Driscoll left the club, twenty-six-year-old Jason Mann was appointed as manager and will hope to finish in a respectable position with his recently promoted team.
Crawley Town chairman Victor Marley was quick to defend his decision - after sections of the media and fans attacked his decision to name an unkown manager as manager. In an interview, Victor had this to say: "Jason is a very young and confident manager. His tactical understanding of the game is excellent and will help this club progress. I've been following him for some time and now to finally have him in charge of my football club is a great feeling."
Jason Mann described Crawley Town as a club "with lots of potential" and hopes he can earn himself some credit with the League One outfit. It is reported that he has already expressed interest in several players who have both skill and experience.
