Strachan quit Middlesbrough post!

Gordon Strachan has retired from football management due to personal reasons, the Middlesbrough chairman will start looking for a replacement straight away.

Sky Sports News left a poll running for who will be the next Middlesbrough manager over the last day or so and these are the results,

Graeme Souness 42 %
Gareth Southgate 24 %

Joseph Southern has been named the new Teesider's manager on a two year deal worth around £8,000 a week.

Sky Sports News - So Joseph, you sit here as the new Middlesbrough boss how do you feel about going back into management ?

Southern - It feels great, i can't wait to join up with the squad

KICK! Magazine - You have a good squad already but will you be adding to it with some new signings ?

Southern - I'm not sure i will see what they are like in training and i will then decide if the team needs improving

BBC Sport - You have the all time top scorer in the SPL, do you think he will get you the goals you need this year ?

Southern - Yes, Kris Boyd is a great player and he has an excellent goalscoring record, also has Scott McDonald who will be most likely to partner him up front

The Sun - What are your season expectations ?

Southern - Promotion
