This evening at precisely 21:12, it was announced that David Moyes had to step down for health reasons, he would be hospital ridden for several months and thus it would not be the ideal pre-season preparation for an important campaign. A campaign that may continue Everton's decline into a midtable team, or a campaign where they could prove the doubters wrong and push on back into the riches of Europe.
Meanwhile, in a dingy backstreet alley in Merseyside a delivery was being made, bundles of cash were thrown into a bag and delivered to a man in an office suit. One man sat at home hoping, was this the opportunity he had been waiting for?

The next day the club released a statement that the there would be a press conference the following day on the appointment of a new manager.
Back in London the phone was ringing, good news. He picked up his briefcase and walked to euston station. From there he took the gentle journey up to Liverpool, the start of his new adventure was just beginning.

The following day at the press conference Mark Proudfoot was unveiled as the new manager for Everton, they stated that this was because he was a fellow Scot with a similar philosophy as David Moyes. However nobody could believe the appointment.
Reporter: "You come here to a big club with no football coaching experience whatsoever, how did you achieve such a grand appointment"
"I have worked closely with David for many years behind the scenes, it will be a smooth transition. I said lying through my teeth. Only 3 people knew the truth, the truth behind the bag of money.

The following day I awoke buzzing, joyed by the prospect of being the new Everton manager. I will take this team forwards, hopefully to the Europa league after a season and the champions league within 3. The club has some amazing players on its books and it would be idiotic to change the personnel drastically.

Leighton Baines

This guy is an absolute beast at left back, arguably the third best left back in the country and a dead ball specialist. This guy will be a crucial part of any attempt to get back into Europe.
Fellaini

This guy is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world. He also has the benefits of having some of the best hair in the world.
Jelavic

The main goal scoring threat. If this guy does not find form we may have major problems putting the ball in the back of the net.

Pre Season
I stared over the training pitches and started analyzing my squad. The vast number of central midfield players was a problem. How could i keep them all happy? The answer dawned on me. 5 cms in one form or another, with a player like leighton baines i could afford to have no midfield width.

Now I had big decisions to make, who to buy and sell with a budget of just 4mill. I had decided to play it safe with the board and said i could get a top half finish, of course i believe this squad is more than capable to get into Europe.

I decided to bring in Sammir because i reckoned he would be a quality back up player with small wages. Vrsaljiko is a player i have always liked, and would be a great right back to have as back up to Coleman.
We had a great Pre-season and won all our games apart from one which i thought was very encouraging ahead of the season we have ahead. View attachment 228724
Please leave comments if your following and please leave suggestions to improve. I can hopefully put out another update tonight, but if not tomorrow :)

August
The season was finally starting. The media kept on referring to me as the rookie manager who slept his way to the top, so close but no cigar on their part. The first match against Stoke will be tough, stoke are a big physical team, but my team trusts me to succeed. I have somehow managed to convince them I'm a decent tactician! Oh how foolish they are, just because i tend to like something unorthodox does not mean i am the greatest of tacticians but as long as they believe in my methods its fine.
The day of the match came, my nerves were in my mouth.

The match was incredible, the only negative was Gibson's absolutely awful penalty, but he didn't let that bother him as he claimed an impressive hat trick. There will be tougher challenges ahead but hopefully these boys can pull their way through, they are an incredible bunch.
Everton vs Wigan
On the back of the good performance the previous weekend i was hoping the boys could pull off another good result.

The boys didn't dissapoint with another commanding display. I was impressed by the sheer domination they managed.
Everton vs Preston (carling cup)
I decided to let some of the fringe players have a go and despite falling behind they impressed me. This match gave me a lot to think about.

Everton vs Man Utd
The nerves ahead of a fixture as massive as this were deadly, this was a huge fixture and huge test for the players. I prayed we could pull of an upset.

That was a fantastic performance, they took their chances slendidly. This was a tutorial for all teams on how to be clinical in front of goal. Jelavic has been a really impressive player, long may his form continue.

Who says being a manager is hard? its a stroll in the park so far. Yet may chalenges lie in wait.
