Hi. I'm new to the site so take it easy on me. :)

I'm in my first season as Manchester United around the 23rd November, and have been doing poorly in the league, but quiet good in the Champions league group stages (Easy group). The reason for this is the lack of goals from my squad both away and at home.

I have £0 Budget left as I spent this on new players and youths. However my budget can be adjusted to £1.4 Million wage budget, and £14 Million transfer budget.

My squad has great depth.
The following is my squad.

Strikers:
Wayne Rooney.
Javier Hernandez.
Dimitar Berbabtov.
Romelu Lukaku. (In: £6 Million)
Michael Owen.

Wingers:
Ryan Giggs.
Antonio Valencia.
Nani.
Park Ji-Sung.
Gabriel Obertan.

Centre Mid:
Paulo Henrique. (In: £11 Million)
Darron Gibson.
Paul Scholes.
Anderson.
Darren Fletcher.
Michael Carrick.
Owen Hargreaves.

Centre Backs:
Rio Ferdinand.
Jonny Evans.
Nemanja Vidic.
Chris Smalling.

Fullbacks:
John O'Shea.
Wes Brown.
Rafael.
Maxwell. (In: Loan)
Patrice Evra.

Goalkeeper:
Edwin Van Der Sar.
Tomasz Kuszczak.

Promising Youth Players:
Bebe. (On Loan)
Danny Welbeck. (On Loan)
Federico Macheda. (Available)
Thorgan Hazard. (On Loan) (In: £3.7 Million)
Kevin. (Available) (In: £3.7 Million)
Matt James. (On Loan)
Alphonse Areola. (Available) (In: £2.9 Million)
Tom Cleverly. (On Loan)
Fabio. (On Loan)
Jack Butland. (On Loan) (In: £1.2 Million)
Joshua King. (On Loan)

I would like to use a tactic which is revolved around wing play, consisting of 2 strikers, possibly a 4-4-2 or 4-2-2 tactic.

Thanks. :)

One question. What do you do with the downloaded 1kb file? Where does it go? How do you open it up? Sorry I'm new to all this.

When you find it click download file, then drag from your desktop into Documents/Sport Interactive/Football Manager 2011/Tactics. Then go into your save and go to the tactic screen and click import file. Go to the tactic file and import it.

Laffles is tried and tested for Man Utd s I would go with his, the variation he has done in the classic form would be good or the 4-2-4 either way, Rooney as deep lying/complete and Hernandez as the poacher or Lukaku complete forward support and owen the poacher.

Nani on the left Valencia on the right and ball winner Fletcher advanced playmaker attack/support Ganso (Paulo Henrique).

Quite a few Utd made tactics, the best formation is the one they use in RL which is normally a 4-2-2-2 (Some say 442 but thats rarely true) so I would go with Laffles/il devasto.

Please have a look in the Man U tactical discussion thread and continue the conversation there
