Ok since buying the game the day it came out, I have started with Man Utd, Man City, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan but I am yet to complete a full season!! I just cant seem to WIN a game at all, my players just dont perform with any tactic I use, I've tried everything...for example taking my time to build a formation that I feel suits my players, I've even, for the first time in years tried downloading other peoples tactics...but still no win !!!

My most recent result, which is the main reason I am creating this thread was a HOME game Real Madrid vs Zaragoza (I'm Madrid) I got slaughtered 4-1 with my best performance coming from Ozil who played a 6.3 rating !!!

Am I missing something?? I mean it isnt even like I'm a newbie to the game, I've been playing since the early CM days (2000/2001ish) and have always had some sort of success, but I just cant seem to get the hang of this game....What am I doing wrong??

Anyone else struggling??

Ok I just give it a quick read through and tbh I've always conducted my team talks in a similar way more or less so I dont think thats the problem.

Maybe, you chose to be a Sunday league rep manager and the world class players don't like you so much so they don't perform well?

just play through it, loose streaks end eventually if your a team as good as real

I always choose International player as my past experience when I'm a big team.

Morale is good to superb, and I have tried many different tactics in many different saves.

It isnt even as if its just a losing streak...for example I started with Man Utd a week or two back..... my first 5 games of the season went as follows :: Sunderland away (lost 2-0), Birmingham away (lost 2-1), Arsenal HOME (lost 3-0), Fulham away (drew 2-2...YAY), Aston Villa HOME (lost 1-0)......Not to mention a Champions League draw vs Rosenborg away!!

Its just not good enough....Needless to say I quit

No that I know of, I mean the only thing I have done that could of made them unhappy was say "Not good enough" in my team talk when I lose to teams I should beat with ease!!

I had great success on FM10 even with small teams e.g Swansea, Q.P.R, Sunderland and I havnt really changed my style of play at all

How often are you chopping and changing your formation/tactics?

I dont I always choose one tactic and stick with it. If I'm a weaker side I have a home/away tactic, away being more defensive home being more attacking.

Anyway I have just started a new game as Inter Milan and I'm using the Parktheplane tactic so hopefully things will improve....hopefully!!

Anyone got any tips for on the Match preperation screen as I'm still not sure I fully understand it....

Cheers for the replies guys ;)

ON match prep, leave it to your assistant if you dont understand it, bigger clubs will have assistants with stats good enough to make decent decisions.

Losing is a reason bacause i love this game, like in real football.you have problems with TB,WB,squad morale;strugling to motivate players...play this game for fun not for win.

TRUE, but it gets kind of annoying when you're playing as Real Madrid, Man Utd, AC Milan etc and you cant buy a win even against teams that are fighting relegation!!

Anyway on a brighter note I have just started a game with Inter and beat Roma in the Italian Supercup 3-0....Hopefully I can keep it up :D

If it doesn't work and you decide to start a new game with whatever team..
Make sure you play the team that played in the real world last year.
For example if you play as Man Utd don't throw your new signings straight in as it will upset the team chemistry, play Gibson, Carrick, Park, Rooney, Vidic etc... as the chemistry won't be as unbalanced as it would have been if you had put 3 new players straight into the team.

Hope this helps..

Why are you posting in a month old thread? Leave the dead be... ;)
