okay, I've got like five different tactics for each game according to situation, etc... but I heard that players need time to adapt to the tactic to play at their full level, and FM little advices are that you shouldn't play too many different tactics because your players will perform poor. On the other side, the AI apparently gets used to your tactic every season or so.
So question is, should I make a whole new tactic each year, with all the variants? Any old players know a bit about this, its my first FM so you guys talk about obvious things that didn't even crossed my mind, any advice greatly appreciated. The only thing I can say in return, after playing a couple of CL finals is that the opposition will ALWAYS start either controlling or defensive minded, so don't be afraid to play attack, I bagged three to Liverpool in a CL final that way.

Making dramatic changes week in, week out certainly doesnt help. Each season the AI does get used to your tactics, so I would recommend modifying it, slightly. You can stick with the same basic formation but just modify PIs and TIs slightly. Passsing style, closing down, tempo etc.

Yeah, I'd say change it... I remember FM08, I went from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3... Worked a treat XD But you have to play a similar chape.. Also a good idea to give the team a chance to try it out during the pre-season.

Yeah good shout - Make sure you try it out pre-season against crappy teams and make sure your winning by a good margin.

Allways try out new tactics in pre-season friendlies aginst lower league teams or teams that aint as good as yours... its good not to chance your tactic too much so your team can get used to playin that tactic:D good luck(H)
