I am ****** beyond belief here now. It's absolutely stupid how the game engine seem to work at times..let me tell you a short story about why I won't buy another FM game before they improve it.
I'm playing as Fiorentina, had a very successful season using tactics from these forums..I won the season 20 points ahead of the 2nd place and figured I might as well try my luck creating my own tactics instead to make it more interesting. And first now do I realize why people want to "exploit" the ME so much..the ME cheats, period.
I'm only at my 3rd game in the second season, it's a completely new tactic and a few new faces around..and as I'm utter bonkers at actually making tactics there is bound to be some issues.
But I actually found the tactic very useful. I managed to close up shop only letting through a very few shots in my first games, even managed to beat FC Bayern in the super cup 2-1! So there has to be something I've done correctly. My only issue is getting ccc's so goal can be hard to come by.
Now to the game itself: I'm playing Juventus at home, had a really good first half and I'm up 2-0 by half time..in second half they start pressuring me a lot more. I'm not really sure how to deal with it and I'm afraid to make any major changes so I just try some minor defensive stuff and hope for the best. Unfortunately they score once, fair enough..let's keep going.
Then at 60 minutes the ME goes completely insane. Every single time my players touch the ball they literally give it away to the Juventus players. And I'm not joking when I'm saying every single time. Max 2/3 touches on the ball and they give it away. I'm using comprehensive highlights so I can see pretty much of what is going on and due to the high pressure there was close to no non-highlight breaks.
And by giving it away I don't mean them intercepting the ball or hassling my players, just simply passing the ball straight to them. We were still able to bravely fight back defensively but it just went on like this non stop until they finally scored a second goal at the 94th minute. Not to mention that the added time was only 2 minutes and the ball wasn't out of play considerably enough to add another two minutes.
I mean, c'mon...are you joking me? Please don't come here and tell me that my players giving away the ball continuously for 35 minutes is in any way considered realistic or human mistakes. Yes my tactic isn't perfect but by no means did my tactic ever suggest "give the ball away as soon as you get it". It's just the ME intentionally going against the players when it feels like. I have no doubt about this now. I will not buy another FM until a few major patches and people's feedback shows that the ME is more fair. I don't expect to win every game, in fact I never expect to win a game at all..but when I do lose I expect it to happen in a fair way.
