AC Milan 4-3-1-2 Formation help needed

Hi! I've just started my second season with Milan and I have sold Ambrosini, Gatuso, Van Bommel And Seedorf. I brought in Asamoah, Armin Bacinovic and Ibrahim Afellay and have created a 4-3-1-2 tactic that doesn't seem to work that good. My ball possesion doesn't work out and i can't get my midfielders to perform the way i want to. I'm playing Asamoah at LMC with the role box 2 box/Supply, Boateng MC as Ball winner/Supply and Bacinovic RMC as a Central midfielder/Supply. I have some screens but unfortunately my game is in Swedish but i will try to translate the words as good as i can if you can help me out with the tactics.

I have Filosofi (Philosophy) set to Försiktig (Careful) and Strategi (Strategy) set to Kontrollera (Control).
Passningsstil (Passingstyle) is set to Mer direkt (More direct) and Kreativ frihet (Creative freedom) set to Mer disciplinerat (More Discipline).
Press (Pressure) is set to Mer press (max pressure) and Tacklingar (tackling) to Mer Aggresivt (Aggresive).
Markering (Marking) is set to Zonspel (zone-marking) and Frihet (Freedom) is set to Mer frihet (More freedom).
Försvarslinje = Defence line
Bredd = Width
Tempo = Tempo/Speed?
Slösa tid = Waste time
Fokusera passningar = Focus passing
Kontringsspel = Conterplay/Counterattack?
Spelfördelare = Playmaker
Bollmotagare = Target man
Pass till bollmotagare = Pass to target man.

I Realized there's much I'm asking of you now but i would highly appreciate if someone could help me out here since there are no activity at all on the Swedish forums for FM. PS. I'm sorry for my sucky english but as you may understand it's not my first language.

The whole tactic is contradictive and contraproductive

. You play with à top team and face defensive teams, yet you play really Narrow within à Narrow formation

You play without wide midfielders, yet you try to focus the build up phrase in midfield down the flanks/ the wingers.

You play on the counter and tell the players that they have to make up their mind in à split second( no time to waste) meaning that all attacks Will be in haste.

Try to just untweak the tweaked sliders and take ur from there.also
, dont use any target man, better then to use Zlatan as à complet FC

Thank you for the respond. Should i still play with Counter play or should i untweak that one aswell? Can i still have Afellay as a playmaker and can i have the midfielders role as they are?

I would not recommend tweaking any slider or setting. If you want to play on the break, then the counter strategy is better to use. Just remember to use it at those Times' when there is something to actually counter,
