Oguchi Onyewu has had a year added onto his AC Milan contract and is going to play the final year of that contract for free after missing an entire season through injury..

Full story HERE

Model professional. Great thing for a footballer to do in these modern times where players move clubs and forget about loyalty just to get some more money in their pockets.

Model professional? More like dumbass ******

I mean, come on. If his club were in money troubles or something, I'd understand but the only reason he's doing this is for stupid publicity.

Hardly. He's doing it because he's been out of action for a year while being paid to do nothing. He's giving it back to them by not getting paid for the final season of his contract.

Really doubt it's a publicity stunt to be honest.

i respect him, yes it may be for publicity, (he will be a free agent in a years time) its like Paulo Di Canio, when he kicked that ball out, its good to see some chivalry in professional sports these days, good on you Oguchi :D

Did you actually read it? It is because he was injured all last year and was still getting paid and wants to give something back to the club. Massive respect for this guy.

I disagree, I think that he realised that he owes the club seeing as he was still getting payed even though he wasn't playing because he was injured. Bold thing to do, respect owed to him :)

No, he signed a three-year deal last summer and is adding an extra year on in which he will play for free.
