Not worth retraining as a DC, his jumping is low, and his heading isn't too god either. Even as a fast DC, he hasn't got a great deal of pace. Would like to see him after 3 or 4 seasons to see how his stats have changed.

Still, his jumping and heading could be improved.

True, but I see him playing better in a defensive midfield position, as his passing tackling and marking suit that position, as an Anchor man.

i have always like Vass, good Anchorman as StuW mentioned ;)
I may be confused with another player, but is he not HG for the UK? I believe he trained with an English club early on in his playing days and in doing so has become an HG player for English teams (bonus as well to fill the quota)

Not to sure, will check it when I can!

I play him as DM/Anchorman in my Villa game. Absolutely solid. Stats become excellent. 20 marking and 20 tackling 19 positoning 20 strength. 16 passing. Put him tightly marking your opponents main attacking outlet and it is game over. I'm 5 seasons in.

In my third season and shipping a lot of goals from long range shots (could also have something to do with the 4-2-4 formation :S, but I'm not going to change that, it works for my players in general)

Cut a long story short, I can sign him for 9 and a half mill, would he solve my problem as a ball winning midfielder?
