Portsmouth are set to announce on Monday that they have sacked manager Tony Adams after just over three months in charge, BBC Sport understands.

Anyone see his post-match interview after Liverpool? The missus reckoned he'd been on the vino, and he certainly didn't look well.

Shame really as 'arry left him with a job which will test most managers, let alone one with little experience.

smart move by Pompey, was never going to cut it. Stick to being a coach and he will have a decent careear

its official now, he's "left", if you know what im getting at.

how is gareth southgate still in a job if adams is out of a job. if any other manager in the league doesnt win in 13 league games they would be out the door and rightly so. this makes boro look weak i think

This is the type of loyalty that some other chairmen need to show towards their managers. Hes had no money and his best players want to leave, (Downing, O'Neil). Same happened at portsmouth with Defoe and Diarra.

Adams will never be a decent manager,he was **** at wycombe too.Apparently the pompy players found him difficult to get on with and a bit weird.
I don't know how Southgate is still in his job, those players only want to leave because he's so **** at his job.

How despressing is that, your best players are downing and o'neil

Its true that Ferguson was once, belive it or not, on the verge of being sacked yet united stood by him and now look at him. One of the best, (and thats coming from a Leeds fan).

theres a different between loyalty and just being a bit stupid. weve done **** for about 2 and half years since southgate took over. he needs some credit for the way he has tried to set up the club getting rid of the old players on big wages, but his investment in youth clearly isnt working and although i love gibson and glad hes not like other chairmen just sacking at the first sign of trouble i think no wins in 13 games it is pretty justified in losing his job and a fresh start

ok you win. no wins in 13 is pretty poor. The strange thing is your last win was against villa wasnt it, and then you drew with Everton so your just low on confidence so yes a new manager by now maybe the fresh start needed.

Southgate should never have got the job in the first place,Gibbo took the cheap option,he has never actually employed a real manager, they have all been players or assistants. Its scary how far Boro have fell since the UEFA cup final,we should of kicked on from there but blew it.

Remember your talking to a Leeds fan here. DONT moan about falling out of europe cause it could be worse.

Leeds are a example of what bad management at the very top can do to a club.Think yourself lucky mate, you nearly went out of existence all together.

bad financial management by ridsdale. who ever won the league with seth johnson, lee bowyer and robbie fowler. they made some bad buys. At least you dont have that problem cause you cant afford it in the first place, which maybe is a good thing. Look at the teams that spent, went down and never came back. Wolves (although doing alrite now but its been a while) Derby, Palace, Southampton, Sheff Utd, Charlton. Theres an ever increasing gap between money in the prem and that of the championship.

Leeds couldn't afford it either,Risdale spent fortunes on players with money he didn't have.He should of done 10 years in the scrubs for what he done.

Poor tony adams apsoult sham! 15 weeks no money and ur 2 best players sold beneath
you what are they thinking looking for a skap-goat in the wrong place harry rednapp thats were the blame lies!! and there board! i`d have adams as a coach at arsenal maybe he can teach eboue how control himself:S or give him a slap he needs both!

Bit harsh on the Bowyer comment, he did well for leeds in my opinion. Also didnt your chairman spend season ticket sales you didnt even have yet? lol

Seth Johnson 6m was it? what were they thinking
