Advice for my 4-1-2-1-2 tactic

I would like some advice for my 4-1-2-1-2 tactic.

The defence is sound, but we are not creating many chances and aren't scoring enough goals. Despite the players being:

GK: Reina:
RB: Johnson
LB: Bale
CB: Carragher
CB: Fazio
DM: Masherano
CM: Gerrard
CM: D'Agostino
AM: Gourcuff
ST: Lukaku
ST: Torres

I have included the tactic. Any help would be appreciated!

I also like the 4312 formation. It depends what are you trying to do and what the problem is? The first thing I would try is to make the wing backs more attacking, as they can drible on the line and give wide support, then the DM should be set to defend. The second thing I would try is to change the Mc's roles.

You could try a couple of things:
Change 'Focus Passing' to 'Through The Middle'
Use the 'Look for Overlap' shout.

I have tried changing the fullbacks roles to attack - that helps a bit, although not working wonders yet. But I will give it some time.

The MC's are currently box-to-box... dunno what it should be changed to, I have tried the other roles, but it doesn't do much.

I will have a shout at the "through the middle" that might improve things.

The biggest problem in the team is that Gourcuff is anonymous at best! :-(

you need time for your new signings to blend in .. especially if they aren't familiarized with english football.

yeah... But the new signings for this season are Fazio and Bale, the rest have been here for about 15 months (Gourcuff, D'Agostino and Lukaku) or longer...

I got the same tactic 4-1-2-1-2 but im very attacking but my defence is suck! i got like average 3goals/match against average teams and 1goal concede/match even against Sheff Utd and Burnley!

I currently managing Spurs after 4 years at Anfield, with
GK: A.Consigli
LB: G.Bale
CB's: S.Bassong/M.Sakho
RB: New wonderkid Charlie Ross
CDM: F.Zuculini - he is world class! - Gojko Kacar, secondary choice
CM's: Tom Huddlestone/S. Gerrard
AM: Javier Pastore with Van Der Vart on rotation
ST: M.Balotteli/ Fernando Torres (i got brazilian, Hulk backing up for injury prone Torres!) he is good.
I stole Torres, Gerrard, and Javier Pastore from my previous club liverpool lol and sold almost half of spurs original team from previous manager including Modric, Ribery and Babel

here's how it's work, u put ur CDM with Anchor duty, set both full back to full attack, 2 of ur strikers attack 1 with poacher( right) and 1 with advance forward. AM set on attacking midfielder and 1 of ur CM go attack duty(advance playmaker) and 1 deep lying playmaker set on support. use fluid and control strategies, i use direct passing rather than short passing and put your formation on 'wide' give more space and my team was also good with counter attack against big clubs like chelsea. I gotta warn u tho it doesn't always work good with big team, they dominate the possesion and ur defence is vulnerable but i always go for smash and grab lol so sort out ur defence.
