I was flicking through zonalmarking on the Teams of the Decade section and I notice Porto (number 4 in the table) played a 4-3-1-2 and I would like to try it but the problem I SUCK AT NARROW FORMATIONS Im currently playing as Fleetwood Town so can people point me in the right direction on how to playsuch a formation.

Bare in mind that, with Fleetwood town, you can't expect all formations to work!

At moment it is just as simply as you cang but I have got Man Utd and I will probably start another at some point just thought I'll get ball rolling

Try downloading some narrow formations and seeing how they work, then you can see what they do differently to you.

I always remember with the 4-3-1-2 the forwards moved out to wide positions

You can do that or if you have a strong defence and a very good DMC you can set both your FBs to wingback (attack), and then tweak the sliders to make them even more attacking so when you attack they play almost like wingers and if they get caught out of position then the DMC drops back like a third centre back to cover.

Most Barca tactics do that

How should I set the front 3 ? the fullbacks on attack duty has helped alot

This is my favorite formation, hope I can help you a little. The key position in this formation is the AMC, so if you don't have a class player there you won't get to many sucses with it. I always set up the front 3 like this: Poacher, Advanced forward, Advanced playmaker (attack)

Well Im Fleetwood so class Advance Playmaker will be hard to find but i'll find a way

when looking for advance playmaker for a BSP what should I look for. This is my first venture in low league so dont know whats good or bad just listen to my scout.

Even though this tactic was suppose to be for tough home games seems a good little tactic

I'm sticking with my wide tactic http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/f103/4-1-3-2-wide-first-try-t69621.html which works great for me, but for a narrow tactic I would think that passing is a key skill to have, because through balls will probably be your main source of created chances...

For 4-3-1-2 I think my approach would be a very fluid setup with lots of roaming to get the defensive midfielders into supporting positions when attacking.

Just some basic thoughts...

V.fluid would be risky at the moment with Fleetwood hopefully with better players I can try it like theory of the whole team attack and defend as a unit sort how I would play in real life my style would have my working as a team then individuals
