Firstly sorry to followers of the previous version of this story, I have had to restart the game due to problems with choosing too many leagues. I have now selected the home nationsm France and Holland and it is running much better. I will try and make this thread even better than before and want to thank you all for your support. But first the preview to get you all in the mood (K)

Sounds good. :)

I'll follow.

Preseason round up
Despite losing their first game to Blackpool Under 18's the Coasters had a good preseason winning 4 out of the 6 games.

Fylde has made no secret of the fact that it is looking to boulster their squad with a new goalkeeper and is also considering whether to make formal bids for McWhirter and Wolliscroft.

Full preseason results below:

Sorry but there wont be any more updates until next Friday or Sat due to working away from home during the week.

Thanks for everyone's patience - new posts tonight.

I'd be grateful for any feedback on the story to date.

Looking good so far - I'm someone who enjoys bringing young players through, so am interested to see how you get on!

Interesting read so far, nice original idea and a nice way to put it across.

I shall follow with interest.

Sorry for the lack of updates, it has been a hellish couple of weeks however here is the first of many new updates.

Details of September's matches to follow shortly.

Another signing for AFC Fylde. The only problem with having such good youth facilities is that all my players are very young. I've signed former St Johnston player Jordan Tait to try and bring some depth and experience to my squad. It was a free transfer and seems to have gone down very well with the clubs board and fans.

This will probably be my last signing for the season, certainly before the January transfer window. My current squad is shown below. I will post stats if anyone is interested?

Nice update mate, and good that you haven't just let this story die.

No chance of that, will make sure I get the one season at least although people will need to be patient as I can only update at the weekend.

September was a bit a tough month (with the exception of signing Jordan Tait) and saw AFC Fylde exit from the qualifying rounds of the FA Cup. Despite this we are unbeaten in the league (mostly draws) and end the month in 7th place.

Please comment on this story, what you like and don't like. It's your comments that make all this work worth while.

This looks interesting so far, will be interesting to see how the youths pay off :) I like howyou're posting larger screenshots, as I often can't be bothered to click small ones! Can't think of any recommendations at the moment, I'll get back to you!

By the way, what league are you in? I mean, what level, like 10th?

Fylde are in the Unibond North (now EvoStick North) which is level 8. I will be going to see my first AFC Fylde match this Thursday when they play Accrington Stanley :)

October has gotten off to a good start for the Coasters with a 2-0 in the FA Trophy. In addition to getting through to the second round the £2,000 prize money will be very welcome for the small Lancashire side.

Sorry but the previous screenshot should read second qualifying round and not second round. Amateur mistake :-s Anyhow another cup win (although only on the replay leg). Looks like October is becoming a much better month.

October turned out to be a quite a good month after all however I must admit a slight disappointment with our drawn against Banbury. The replay will be a tight match and I will be delighted if we can pull off a win.

Please remember to feedback to let me know people are reading this :)

I'm told that this isn't cheating but it feels slightly wrong. None the less I've set up some fixtures for my reserve side playing the reserve clubs of some top clubs, this has netted me quite a bit of money £7k, which is very welcome in the lower leagues :).

Because of the way I do each screenshot per update it takes me between 30-45 mins per update. I was wondering how many people are following this story and whether it is enough to justify the time I'm putting into it.

If there is enough followers then I will gladly keep posting however if there isn't many I may change it to a less time consuming method.

Can I see what your players look like?

Did you edit the AFC Fylde team in any way- what's their youth facilities like?

The team weren't edited but the youth facilities were set at 20 (unrealistic but the premise of the story). As a result the team is made up of youngsters who are good by the league's benchmark and have potential to improve.

Interesting story. Halifax should be top. Look at James Shipperly and Charlie Tunnard also look at Adam Kay I got him on a free for Halifax and he is worth 40,000
