AFC Hinckley - Resurrection

Welcome to my new save. Where I am hopefully going to be taking AFC Hinckley through the leagues.

Why Hinckley I hear you ask?

I am originally from Leicester and spent 2 years of my life living in Hinckley and 6 years working there. Also when I was a kid my Uncle was Chairman of the old Hinckley Athletic before they merged with Hinckley Town. I supported them ever since my first trip down to the old Middlefield Lane over 20 years ago.

In 2013 Hinckley Athletic went bust due to their Chairman at the time refusing to pay a tax bill and decided instead to wind the club up

In January 2014 AFC Hinckley was born when fans of the club created their own Community Trust Football Club. Their first season started 2014-15 when they were accepted into the Midland Football League First Division

Putting them into FM15

To get them into the game and the fact that I'm dreadful at using the editor I have downloaded an update taking the English Leagues down to Level 9. This means to put Hinckley into the game I would have to put them into the Midland Premier Division.

I have replaced Walsall Wood with AFC Hinckley. I have also tried to put a few of the players AFC Hinckley currently have in their squad using the editor. I have installed their badge and also put them into their current ground which is a ground-share with Heather St Johns.

Aims/Objectives

Right now you know a bit about what I've done, here is what I hope to do:

1) Get AFC Hinckley back up to the Conference North, this will take a minimum of 3 season due to us being in Level 9 and the Conference North is Level 6.
2) Attempt to improve the clubs facilities and after a few years build our own ground
3) Improve our finances and hopefully after out facilities have improved start bringing through some local players

I've played a few weeks so far and due to having only 8 half-decent 1st team players I have gone a bit mad in the transfer market.

Here is my current squad.

As you can see after a few transfers I have around 2 players per position but according to my Assistant Manager the CA/PA of the majority of players is poor. Im not unduly concerned as according to my team report the attributes are ranked high-ish for this league.

Need to improve the work rate and maybe sign someone with decent leadership. Apart from that I'm very happy.

Transfers - Here is a list of players I've signed, as you can see there are quite a few but all definitely required

Tactic - For the purpose of this save I'm going to be testing a tactic downloaded off of FM Base. You can find it here:

http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/shar...740-supermike-3-seasons-breaking-records.html

Its a 5-2-3 tactic with 1 striker and 2 IFs and I feel would fit perfectly the team I want to put together. The person who created the tactic used it in lower leagues and that is another reason for using it. Hopefully my test will also be helpful to other people looking at using this tactic

So that's where I am, Ill put a new post up once I have completed my friendlies and let everyone know how I'm getting on

Wish me luck!!

Cheers for the reply. Ill take a look mate, might get some tips off you!

2014/15 Pre Season

Well pre-season is over and it's been good to say the least.

I decided at the start to arrange a seriously large number of friendless due to tactical familiarity being terrible and the majority of the squad being new.

As you can see it went really well. A few 1-1 draws but in all those games we played really well and long balls did us.

There best performers over pre-season were:

Avun Jephcott

Jephcott was consistent over the whole pre-season, playing as our advanced playmaker. His pass success rate was 82% and got 2 POMs in 5 starts

Liam Walsh

The Right Winger was in great form, scoring 4 goals in 5 starts. He always seemed to pop up in the right place at the right time.

We made a couple of other signings, these are shown below:

Gulliver is a 31 year old CB and will give us much needed experience in defence
Corden is a 34 year old LW. I have no LWs in my squad and he will provide good competition for my loan signing:
Whittaker on loan from Brackley he is a young LW, he has good pace and flair and will hopefully learn well off Corden

Here are the odds for the upcoming season

As you can see we are 5000-1 to win the league. We are by far ranked the worst team in the league. I'm still feeling confident though, the team report shows that in general we are probably middle ranked in all departments so I would expect us to come mid-table.

My own objective is to hopefully be close to promotion. The top 2 teams automatically go up (no play-offs). If we can come around 5th or 6th I would suggest that's a pretty decent season

Ill post my next update around the end of 2014. Hopefully with some good news and good results

Great pre-season, but only league winners promote, not first 2 teams, right?

The rules say top 2 in my league mate

Edit: No its just the top team! Read it wrong!

That makes it really hard to promote mate, when do you want to promote?
Within 2 seasons?

Later this evening I will post a 'end of the season'-update from my save, I would really appreciate it if you checked it!

Im hoping I can do it first season, With the tactic I have in place Im confident. But then I look at the odds and I get scared I might come bottom! Have to just play it game to game and see how I get on. Hopefully promoted in 3 season at the worst.

Ill definitely have a look. You have twitte? if so add me stevelcfc2010 or add me on steam stevelcfc2009

I don't have twitter mate and I think those predictions in lower leagues are ****. If you've checked my save I was predicted to finish 19th of 21 teams and in January I already avoided relegation and was challenging for the title.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to apologise for lack of updates. I know its been a few months. I had my updates all ready in mid december but had a crash dump and due to the fact I had no back up save I lost everything and I couldnt repair the crash dump.

I had decided to give up and not start again but after a few conversations on Twitter I have been asked to start over again. I will be getting a bit of publicity by a fellow Twitter-ite and he as a has a largely followed blog. If I get some good feedback Ill re-start writing on here.

For the meantime you can follow my updates on Twitterr @fm15afchinckley
