A.F.C. Portchester
is a football club based in the Portsmouth suburb of Portchester, Hampshire.

Ground- The Cage, Wicor Recreation Ground (Capacity- 750)
Nickname- Porchy

History The club was established in 1976 as Wicor Mill F.C. playing in local leagues. They joined the Hampshire League in 1998 after having a number of previous applications rejected. In 1999, they changed their name to their present name and immediately gained promotion to Division One, following this up with the Division One championship in the 2001–02 season. In 2002 AFC Portchester joined with three local youth football clubs, Castle Royals,"Portchester Royals", and Kia Royals, enabling them to significantly incorporate a youth set-up. The club is now one of the largest clubs in Hampshire, boasting a soccer school, 11 mini soccer teams, 13 eleven a side youth teams, 2 under 18 youth teams, and 3 mens teams (2 in Wessex League and 1 in Portsmouth Dockyard Sunday League).
They joined the Wessex League's newly formed Division Three in 2004. This division was renamed Division Two for the 2006–07 season. They now play in the Wessex League Division One.

Good lick, interesting OP. But I wouldn't call Hampshire Minnows.

Non League football

AFC Portchester's Manager, Glenn Bridgman stepped down from his position earlier this week giving way to the club's former youth team manager, Kyle Byrne to take charge of first team duties. Byrne who has only been at the Wessex division one team for a season has found his appointment as 'a bit of a shock' due to his inexperience, but is said to be 'very excited' at his first senior management job. His first game in charge will come the form of Wessex Premier Division Team, Moneyfields in Pre-Season Freindly at the cage ground home ground of Porchy on Saturday 11th July.

Kids go free. Adults £3.

Signings

Starting my first season managing AFC Portchester in Wessex League Division One
is going to be a very challenging task. Firstly, trying to get players to sign for us and secondly, the fact that every player at this level is amateur thus meaning that no one is tied down to a contract. I can see pros and cons of this. The pros are no wages, less pressure on making bad signing (I can release a player if deemed surplus to requirements at anytime). Cons- My best player can be signed by bigger clubs at anytime without a fee.

OK, so before my first league game I made a HUGE 27 signings all on free transfers. I've released all the other player at the club. The best of my signing are

Jason Chewins; 39 yr old English DL (Club Waikato, New Zealand). Chewins is record appearance holder for League 2 Club, Aldershot Town with 489 appearances. Pic Below

Andy Pitman; 30 yr old English DM (Canterbury Dragons, New Zealand). Pitman is a former player of Welsh Prem team, Afan Lido

Rob Gier; 28 yr old

Martin Bullock; 34 yr old English AMR (Waitakere Utd, New Zealand). Bullock is a former England U21 international and played one season in the Premier league in the Mid 90s for Barnsley.

A decent pre- season (I played alot of games against my reserves to keep all player match fit). The season's here now. Wish me luck.something tells me I'm going to need it. I'm going to update in a month by month format. I'll update as frequently as i can. PS i won't be using any genie scout or anyone elses tactics. If I spend 6 seasons in the same division then so be it.

The media have predicted us to finish 20th out of 21 team. Here are the teams we'll be going up against this season-

not a clue

This massively growing club will make you all look like fools come next april. For starters glenn bridgeman has not quit and is building a team that are dead certs to win the league this year. Infact if they had kept all players fit last year they would of romped the league so with an improved squad this year id love to hear anyone bet against them. They are on the verge of signing collis and there are also rumours that fennemore and new are coming from petersfield. Add that to turrell, woods, farley, clarke and mcgregor whos stopping them?
