Am having problems renewing contracts for players in their last year of contract. Have made offers which the agents haven't accepted and then the agents have exited the talks. Now whenever I try and offer a new contract the agent says that the player is not interested in talking about renewing the contract despite sometimes the player even going public saying that he wants a new contract! Help please!! :S

you're probably on the agent's shitlist for not giving his player a, for his own terms, reasonable contract offer. Have you tried waiting like a month before offering a new contract?

as above u have a little bit before u can offer again

Wait a little, or, if you're at a small club with financial difficulties like I am, I had a private chat with them after they rejected the contract and asked them to reduce their wage demands due to the club being in financial difficulties, and they accepted that.
If you then go back to talk about a new contract, they should reduce their demands.
Although on a few occassions they werent happy, or didnt agree. But more often than not they were fine with it!

thanks - will try

ok thanks for all above suggestions but 2 months later none of them work - any other ideas or if I leave it til jan window maybe will have more joy? now in nov and problem started in august

So Gareth Bale has been transfer listed on and off since May.
It is now October and he is in the last year of his contract.
Spurs have accepted 3 offers but the agent won't let me negotiate.
I am in his list of disliked people and yet I have no dealings with him previously as far as I can tell.
The only client he has is Ryan Shawcross who was offered to me for about 6 consecutive months but I ignored it.
I am playing as Chelsea and he does play for Spurs.
He takes all the tapping up praise with a "pinch of salt" etc.
Inexplicably, no other teams are showing an interest (WTF)

So how can I get past this refusal to negotiate?

Thanks for any help.
