Hi all, I’m not an expert at this game or anything, but I thought I’d share my formation as it seems to be working really well for me.

I always liked the Ajax team that won the Champions League in 1995, so I’ve tried to create a formation that produces similar football.

So this tactic has loads of direct, rapier attacks from the wingers (well, strictly a ramdeuter and inside forward) and the centre forward plays a creative role. All the three forwards score about the same number of goals.

I’ve been completely dominating games with it recently and had an amazing run of clean sheets earlier in the season. You can see screenshots from the last two games I played below, and some other stuff. I haven’t let a single goal in at home in the league this season.

Here is the formation:

You need goalscoring wingers to play the ramdeuter and inside forward positions, and a creative forward to play the centre forward position. The three forwards will all get roughly the same amount of goals. Probably the only downside is that you can be a bit vulnerable away from home as it’s a very aggressive formation with no defensive midfielders, but it’s worked out quite well for me recently.

Like I say, I’m not an expert, I’d just be interested to see how other people get on with it.

6 attack roles, 2 defence roles

I would look for maximum 3 attack roles in the front 4, I would also have one of the CMs defending
and 4-2-3-1 should ideally be played with DMs
They can still be very forward going though, the regista role is pretty awesome
the DM + RGA couple has worked for me
