News coming in from Blackpool is that they have appointed former Newcastle United player and manager Alan Shearer as manager. A big day for Blackpool as fans celebrating this unlikely appointment. ESPN spoke to some Blackpool fans after hearing the announcement.
ESPN: "Are you happy at the appointment of Alan Shearer?"
BFC Fan: "Im happy but hes hardly had any experience, he had 8 games at Newcastle United and won 1, but you never know he could become the next jose mourinho"
ESPN: "Do you beleive your squad needs expanding?"
BFC Fan: "I think he will bring in some players on loan since we all know the finances at Blackpool arnt the best, but hopefully a good league finish and good cup run could bring in a bit of money to expand."​

Alan Shearer has secured the loan signing of 19 year old Fred Sears from Westham United. Shearer has stated that he is delighted with the signing and is hoping he can bring the club the goals they will need to survive in the division.​

Blackpool have been drawn against league 2 side Bury. Blackpool favourites to go to the second round will have to be carefull they dont get to cocky and get knockd out by a lower league club.​
