Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce insists comments he made about being more suited to managing clubs like Real Madrid were "tongue-in-cheek".

he's a quality manager but i dont think he would suit a big team.
 
he's mad - he couldn't even manage Newcastle :P
 
tbh, newcastle shoudlnt of sacked him, if they didnt they'd have stayed in the prem.
 
reeks of backpedalling. If you're going to be a nutter go all the way and stick to your guns.
 
Allardyce, 55, said that winning titles for clubs such as Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Manchester United or Chelsea "wouldn't be a problem for me".
But he has now stated that, although ambitious, he was happy at Ewood Park and his remarks were not serious.
