i've got a feeling he will leave..reluctantly though. if someone meets his clause then he will be too tempted to move to a bigger club rather than stay at newcastle

That is true, imagine Liverpool come in with a 9mill bid, offer him good wages and knowing how good they can play within Europe, I doubt he would turn that down.
