I've picked up FM2014 after a little spell a while ago playing FM 2011 to which I was quite successful with my Everton team. I've played FM 2007, 2005 and various others. The main one I played was CM 99/00 and I was ace.

So, I started FM 2014 taking over Portsmouth, I'm out of my depth! After 5 games I'm bottom! I'm playing 4-2-3-1 according to the game it's 4-5-1.

I have no idea how to play with these team. I've been attacking with everything else balanced and I'll experiment with touch line instructions but not really working for me. It seems too complexed for me. I need help. How do I get my players happy with training? How do I motivate them for a game? How do I get them to play possession football and attacking style? Like Martinez's Everton? This game has left me behind! Any help?

Im playing Ayegmang upfront on his own and he's always offside

I think I've probably started off with a hard team haven't I? I always thought if I manage a lower league side I would learn the game before becoming a Premiership manager and have experience?

when u are in the lower leagues u need to keep it simple really nothing to complicated

its always good to play a five man defence in the lower leagues stacked with good physical CBs, there are a few experienced players that'll sign for you for cheap or free and these can fill the gap and maintain a respectable league position, till you get a descent transfer budget and can bring some younger CBs
