Has anyone ever used an AMC as a target man?

I'm playing as Liverpool 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard in the central AMC role just behind Torres.

I have tried it

Supply to feet
Player settings
20 in Mentality
Mixed on fwruns, rwball, l-shots and crosses. raraley on t-balls
last notch of mixed on passing

It worked brilliant in the situation when the opposition played a deepish d-line without a DMC-. But as son as they lift up the team and close down my AMC more frequently, he needs to have Run onto ball instead, and lower his mentality
