AMD x6 vs x4

Hey all, has anyone got the X6 processor? Anyone upgrade from the x4?

is there really any noticeable difference (especially regarding FM11?)

I built my new pc with the purpose of upgrading to an x6 when the price dropped (and it has) and was wondering if it was really worth the upgrade from my 3.8 ghz oc x4.

not much point upgrading to a x6.

4 cores is all you need for gaming at the minute.

For FM you want a bigger hard drive possibly a SSD and more RAM.

Judging by PassMark - CPU Benchmarks - List of Benchmarked CPUs you should gain around +25% power with a lower end x6, and up to +50% for a higher end one. Not been following components lately so no idea of whether that's worth the cost to you.

I may hold off a little longer, rumors are that in June they are releasing the x8.

So I'll either get an x8, or take the even cheaper x6.

Be careful with that. With my current PC I bought an E4500 as a place holder until the Q6600 came out/dropped in price, then I kept delaying for the next thing and still have it almost 3 years later lol.
