Derek Spoulding holding the FA Cup

BREAKING NEWS FROM VALERIE PARK!

The news is that Manager and former Southport centre-back Derek Spoulding has been removed from his position at AFC Liverpool. Rumours say that Spoulding had taken a “shine” to the Chairman of the board, something the Chairman was not prepared to comment on. Spoulding was manager since the teams formation and now the team must look everywhere for someone who would be willing to take up this position.

IN SCOTLAND

“We will take this under consideration…”

*BEEP*

“… Well and truly f***ed up there.”

The man sat down, looking displeased at himself. It seems, as if, he tried to get a job. The room he was in was rather dark, and the man didn’t seem to enjoy the company of others, with the room looking like it hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. Unlike other rooms in Scotland, there was no beer cans, no cigarette butts, however, there was a mass of empty bottles of Pepsi. On one of the walls, there was a picture of the man looking younger receiving a diploma. Below that was the diploma itself. It said “Mick McDermott”… well, pretty self explanatory… “Masters degree in Physics”… again, self explanatory. Mick put his head in his hands, he had nothing to show for in his life. Everything he tried to achieve in crumbled… However…

“One thing left to fear, Can't you save me? Won't you save me from the dark.”

His phone went again. It wasn’t a recognized number, but Mick answered it anyway.

“H-… Hello?”

“Hello, am I speaking to Mick Wilson?”

“Yes?”

“Ah good, I’m a representative from a football club, AFC Liverpool. We recently lost our manager and we’d like to speak to you about the position.”

“Wait… how did you get my number?!”

“It’s a long story. Meet me outside of Valerie Park at 6PM tomorrow. Do not be late.”

*BEEP*

“… Wish I had access to Google Maps right now…”

Footnote: I'm not known for making a story last, but I have every intention of seeing this story through to the end... or until we either go bankrupt or I get sacked XD Update later on, I'm going out =]

OUTSIDE VALERIE PARK

“Mr. Wilson?”

“That’s me. What’s up?”

“Good to see you. I’m who you spoke to on the phone, my name is Ryan Miros. Our chairman is not here at this moment, so he sent me instead. I’m going to make this short and sweet, have you ever thought about a career in managing?”

“Whoa. Honestly, when I was younger yeah but I’ve just been trying to find a job. I haven’t had a job since I finished my masters in Physics. I’d take any job at this moment.”

“And if you had to work for free?”

“Just as long as I can a place here, I’ll take it.”

“Then welcome to the job. No transfer budget, no wage budget, no wages. Best we can do right now.”

“… ****, shouldn’t have agreed to this with no wages… but it’s a job.”

====================================================

“… I present to you, Mr. McDermott, the new AFC Liverpool Manager.”

“First question: As the AFC Liverpool manager, the people need to know how will you play the game?”

“Good question. I’ve always preferred to play an attractive football game. I like to have my players do what they do best in a football match.”

“Next, generally new managers bring upheaval; can we expect the same from you?”

“Until I see any other reason, there will not be any major upheavals. I do not know the players too well so everyone’s future is safe. No more questions.”

Footnote: Friendly results, preseason transfers and formation in the next update.

FORMATION

After looking at our team, I decided to play a simple 4-5-1 formation, with room for two wingers. It's a good enough formation for us to reach our expectations in the league.

My assistant however... he disagrees.

FRIENDLY RESULTS

View attachment 63404

Mixed bag really. We were heavy underdogs for all [apart from the reserve match.] Happy about our result against the GH Academy and Cove Rangers. On the flipside, Not so happy with the Hamilton match and it might drain the team of the confidence going into the first game.

Footnote: I promised the pre-season signings, but I still have one outstanding. When he comes in, then my transfer details will be up.

TRANSFERS

Most of our signings came from Reunion. Even though they could demolish this league, they were still more than happy to sign Amateur deals, since they would be getting regular football.

Our only release was Andy McCoy, a good player but he let Opare shine in that left wingers spot.

AUGUST RESULTS

View attachment 64076

A very good month. Un-beaten in both league and cup competition. Most impressive win? Definetly the 6-0 demolishion of Shirebrook when we were given absolutely no chance of any points. Our league results gave us 3rd in the league, since we've only played twice.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

View attachment 64079

Liam Coyne has been superb this month. John Kennedy, for me, could've won if he kept up his goal scoring record, but he became laxidasical towards the end of the month.

Some nice results here, good luck, i will be following this

Good luck its looking good

OFF TOPIC: "Most of our signings came from Reunion." What does this mean.

September update either later or tomorrow. :)

RESULTS
Another good set of results with a black mark. We got one loss in the FA Cup Third Qualifying Round, however we bounced right back. To me, our loss was down to the missing anchor man, Nicolas Figuin. However, we made two good signings from, you guessed it, Reunion.

Our finances have shot up recently. Everything is looking good for us so far.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

ROBERTO ELCAMAN

With reviews like this, why wouldn't he be player of the month? He has been insane so far.

MISCELLANEOUS

Whilst looking for players to add, I asked to loan a player from Man United. However, I got a little more than I bargained for. It turns out that Alex Ferguson is a good family friend... something my own parents neglected to tell me. He then told me that he had been watching my managerial performances and told me I had handled myself well. To get a compliment like that from him... I was starstruck.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but the october update WILL be either tomorrow or the day after :)

RESULTS
The guys knew that this wasn't just another month. I turned thirty on the fifth so the lads pitched in extra effort. And, to be honest, I am nowhere near disappointed.

With the results, the league NOW look like this.

View attachment 67656

Seriously, they should just give us the title, it's insanity.

FINANCES
Oh my. ANOTHER good month in terms of finances. Glad to say it, maybe we can get some transfer funds this season.

AWARDS
For the third time this season, I've scooped Manager of the Month.

View attachment 67657

As for Player of the Month?

View attachment 67659

He has been completely OUTSTANDING since coming here. 16 Goals in 12 Games, I don't think we can get any better than that. Furthermore... he is officially a favoured personel of AFC Liverpool, someday, he may even become a legend.

MISCELLANEOUS
On the fifth, I managed to head back up to Glasgow, even brought Brice and Rudi up to show them what my life is like, since they were dying to know. I even met some guys I knew from back in Uni who were, unsurprisingly, in stitches to learn I was managing a Level 10 League Team... bastards.

Barry Kirkwood's face scares me :S

Lovely lay-out and great story.Looking forward to the next few updates mate :)

Btw,can you post screenshots of the league table? (A)

When you mentioned Valerie Park I thought it was a Prescot Cables story since my school is virtually on its back field :( Nevertheless, good luck and I'll follow
