Playing with Anderlecht, midway through first season.

Trying to push up, keep possession aka Spain, but my Cm's seem to pass the ball between themselves until one's tackled. I feel like they are all technical enough to avoid this but it always happens and it's not for lack of options, the wingers and striker make plenty of runs.

Then the Cb's seem completely unable to mark the striker/s and are cut out by a simple one-two or longball. They've both got fairly good mental and physical attributes for the league.

DF( A )(Rescaldini/Mitrovic)

W( A )(Suarez) W( A )(Bruno)

AP( A )(Praet) CM( D )(De Zeeuw) DLP( S )(Tielemanns)

WB( S )(Pocgnoli) CB( D )Kouyate CB( D )Nuytinck WB( S )Gillet

Team shouts:
Retain Possession
Shorter Passing
Work Ball into box
Play out of defense
Much higher defensive line
Hassle opponents

Praet: More direct passes, Roam from position, Close down more
De Zeeuw: Shoot less often, Pass shorter
Tielemanns: Close down more, dribble less, more direct passes

Help Please! getting really frustrated with this years game, starting to seem like anything I jiggle with on the shouts and such just has no effect, Cheers.

I was having the same problem on my Ajax save. I was dominating games but conceding stupid goals from route 1 balls over the top. Ive kind of reigned it in a bit now by cancelling the use tighter marking team instruction, dropping the defensive line to just higher and setting both DC to cover. You could try that.

Cheers, ill give it a go, and yeah my possesion is always around 70% but ill only have 1/2 clear cut chances but the oppositon will have 4/5

Use a DM instead of a CM(D). The DM will shield the defence and the defenders won't push that high when they see a player in front of them.

with much higher defensive line, you should really play on the offside trap...and perhaps set your CD's to tight mark. I would also recommend hard tackling to wing backs
