Any reason not to tick counter attack?

the other team will be in your half more

No, even if you have the most attacking tactic, ticking counter attack won't mean you'll sit back and wait for a counter. It just means if you have the chance to launch a quick counter attack, you will.

You'll be more likely to lose possession, so if you're going for high possession percentages I don't advise it.

If the players an the team have the exact same settings apart from the counterbox ticked or unticked, Using counter attacks means that once in possession after breaking up attacks, the players will launch attacks even though that the opponent sits with many men behind the ball. When not having the box ticked, the players will take lesser risks and instead hold om to the ball if outnumbered up front

With this said, its à bigger risk using counter if the opponent sits with many men behind the ball as you might loose it whilst your whole team is getting forward, just as its à bigger risk not pushimg forward using counter attacks if the opponent are pushing up , putting pressure on you

It's a bigger risk if you have a slow defence, as some teams may even counter attack your counter! So if your defence consists of slow players, mainly fullbacks, there's no point of counter attacking really.

I always tick it even if I play attacking tactic because most attacking tactic use high tempo that suits counter attack. It helps me a lot too I just beat Arsenal 3-0 with my Man City and 2 of my goals come from counter attack! I think the only reason not to tick it is if you are aiming to play a possession tactic like Barca did
