Any way to add staff to roles & prevent a retirement on a save game?

I want to stop Totti from retiring so I can call him up for the Olympic squad. Is there a way to edit save games? Also how can I add him onto the staff of Roma?

I think there is an option within the Private Chat function where you can try to persuade him to put-off retirement. To add him to your staff, offer him a new contract but not as a player - in whatever backroom role you want him to have.
