Hey guys, my question is the same as in the title. If Messi has 17 speed, and a player from second mexican division has the same, does it mean that they have equal speed, or does it depend on which club you are manager for, or in which leagues the players are from?

thank you

Equal. If you were to sign them for a Premier League team the attributes would remain the same, regardless of league standing/quality.

You'll see that lower division teams have players with lower attributes, yet they may be very good for the league they are in, it's all dependent. Sometimes you'll find a player with 14 pace is a bit of a speed demon in the lower leagues for this reason.

Attributes only tell a small part of the story. Like in real life, there are so many diferent factory that govern how fast a person is.
Their pace attribute is the same but their speed will not be. A players speed has to take into consideration their acceleration, Agility, natural fitness, stamina, condition during the match, their weight & whether they have the ball or not.

Then once all of this is taken into account, the decision stat as well as the Match engine will decide if the player decides to run at top speed.

Try to find players that have attributes that compliment eachother. A player may have 20 pace but if their dribling is 2, they will not be able to run very fast with the ball at their feet, even though they themselves are very fast.
