Are wingers at the AML/AMR positions still midfielders?

I noticed that the game considers them forwards when naming formations (Like a 4-2-3-1 becomes called a 4-3-3 if you move, say, a DM to CM). So are wingers at the AML/AMR positions still in the midfield (cause I really want 5 midfielders), or are they basically deep forwards?

Well given that AM stands for attacking midfielder... but honestly i know what you mean it can be confusing i would have said 4-2-3-1 hasnt got any DMs tho and if there were 2 then it would become 41131 which would be odd

dont think so since when i have 2 wingers and 2 CFs it says 4-2-4 so im guessing that theyre strikers
