Arsenal 433

Hey all.

Playing my first season as Arsenal, ive been switching tactics and finally settled on the barca 433 (read the barca 433 thread) but im having some trouble. Im not really scoring and often have alot of shots but no quality chances.

At the start of the season i bought Jovetic and realised he is a perfect fit for the 433 at LAM. I have him at inside forward attck mode, and cut inside with very low crossing. On the other side, i have had RvP with similar settings. Neither is performing though, they aint scoring at all. The only scoring i get is when i have replaced Jovetic with Rosicky. I realsie Jovetic is young, but RvP is just as bad, and i tough he was a great fit for RAM.

On the midfield i have Arshavin/Ramsey as box to box, with fabregas as deep playmaker and Song as DM. I cant provide a screenshot since im at work, but from what ive wrote, does anyonve have any tips on what to do?

I used a similar formation for my first season with Arsenal, and didn't score too many goals. In the end, i had to sign another central striker (I got Chamakh, Dzeko is a bit better but costs loads more). A shake up of the formation might help.

ive been switching it around some. Bendtner as complete forward. But also moving rvP there and using Walcott or Arshaving as RAM. But no real success there either. RvP has been scoring for me previously saves, but in this he cant buy a goal for his life.Also, every guy buys Dzeko, sounds boring so im gonna go another route.
 
it could be the tactics your setting your overall team, not just the position roles and duties your setting them. making them play more direct or more expressive or anything to change it will have a big impact on how they play, also the width of your team and tempo etc, also where they focus the passing :) have a fiddle around with them n try n find the combination that works for your team :)
 
yeah ive been switching around between direct passing and short. aswell as some other things..guess i haft to keep trying..Did beat chelsea 2-0 last game, so mayby im on the right track..
 
i play RVP as poacher with the 2 wings as inside forwards, low crossing, ramsey B2B and fab as advance playmaker (attacking roll) and song as anchor man..fabregas set to playmaker..he has loads of assists to rvp, arshavin and walcott and the best thing, he likes to score too

Thats some quality advice. You play walcott and arshavin at wing positions? How do you like players like Diaby, Nasri, Denilson, Eduardo as fits for the 433? Im thinking of offloading em in the offseason. Btw, i find Ramsey and Fabregas fitting nicely together, are you having the same thing?
 
yea i stick with fab and ramsey..for diaby and denilson i gave then league cups and fa cups to play and subs for both ramsey and fab..nasri once his fit i tend to change to 4231 2 CM 2Wings and 1 AM so i shuffle nasri and arshavin in am or LW same for wilshere and rocisky

Yeah that sounds solid enough Im propably sticking to 433 for the moment, so i atleast got 1 tactic that works, heh. Btw, have you played second season, if so, what kinda transfer budget do you get?
 
depends on what league position at the end of the first season..i cant remember already cos first season i didnt buy any players cos i wanted to stick to " wenger's metallity "
 
Yeah ok. Ive sticked to most ofthe orign squad aswell. Buying Jovetic and some youths like rodwell.
 
yea jovetic is ace at LW as inside forward..anyway good luck for your game!

I keep Nasri and Diaby and sell Eduardo and Denilson. When I'm away against the top teams I will play a 4-5-1 with a DM and play Arshavin and Nasri/Rosicky for posession and rotate around the CM.

I use a narrow 433 with my arsenal with 2 support strikers and one advanced forward. I set it so all the strikers are constantly drifting out of position and swapping positions. I retrained arshavin as a striker and he's now as good as van persie! In my first season i scored 86 PL goals, and im top scorer so far in my second season so it works

Can i ask, why use Fabregas as a deep lying playmaker?.

nice to see my thread generate discussion. Ive tweaked things, and things seems to be working good. Just need to rest my players and mix the lineup, as my players wore down towards the end of the season. Mainly using the 433 with Rosicky Bendtner RVP upfront, Ramsey and Fabregas at CM with Song/Denilson as DM.
 
not related to tacti as such, but have you got the new patch? as will that will make a huge difference to scoring, and it fixes the wingers not plays as well as they should

also surely fab should be used as a creative box box, or as an advanced playmaker?
