Cannot get my arsenal team to play well away from home against what you can call *inferior* teams. First season finished 5th after struggling to come to terms with the new tactic system. 2nd season, won the league despite losing an astonishing 10 games. The story becomes clearer though, as i did not lose a single game at home all season! in fact i won 18 and drew 1 at home. away i lost 10 games. It was not against the likes of chelsea/united away that i had problems it was stoke, even qpr beat me 2-0. Has anyone got any help with the reason why this happens?? My tactics are fluid/attacking/creative freedom more disciplined/passing style shorter! playing 4-4-2

Dont allow them to roam, less creative freedom etc. I usually start off with a control match strategy away from but if im not keeping possession ill change to standard or counter. Against top half teams like Everton ill start with a standard strategy and change accordingly and finally against a strong team ill start with a counter attacking tactic.

cheers mate, will bear that in mind for the the 3rd season. Just won the super cup against united on pens :)

for me i go control for away and for home control and attacking depends on the away team. sometimes its not the tactics though..for my first season i have problems in def as they are mainly not good enough..first season vermaelen, gallas and senderos makes alot of mistakes and i played mannone as first choice keeper than almunia. even if his stats were not so good, he is able to keep a cleen sheet more than almunia and concedes less goals

When you play against so called lesser teams away, look at their tactics, It would propably be set up as counter attack, direct and physical. so set your defence (esp full backs to stay back) also defensive midfielder. try and anaylise what time you concede goals and if there is a pattern.
