Arsene Wenger has resigned as the manager of Arsenal Football Club after sixteen years in charge. This has come as a major shock to the footballing world and many important figures have had their say:
Thierry Henry: "Absolutely gutted Wenger has left. Arsenal Legend. Nobody can replace him."
Ian Wright: "Lost for words, nobody expected him to resign. Top manager"
Sir Alex Ferguson: "Big loss for Arsenal, whoever replaces him has a lot to play for."
Emannuel Adebayor: "Now Spurs will finish above Arsenal"

Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has released this statement:
"With regret, Arsenal Football Club can confirm that Arsene Wenger has resigned from the club for undisclosed reasons. We can only thank Arsene for the time and effort and success he brought to the club and his status as a club legend is permanent. Arsene has agreed to help the club find the perfect successor and a replacement will be named between now and the next two weeks."

Arsenal have appointed unknown manager Stephen Gibbs as boss on a two year contract. Arsenal released a statement saying:
Arsenal Football Club are pleased to announce Stephen Gibbs as manager signing a two year contract with the club. Now we are aware fans will be angry that we have appointed an unknown person but we consider him to be a hidden gem in the management world. He is perfect at man management, motivation, he has brilliant determination and as an Arsenal fan himself knows what's best for the club and listens to the fans in order to keep everyone happy. He has the full backing of the board and Arsene Wenger personally reccomended him for the job. Hopefully, this deal will be in the long term and the club will win trophies under his management."club then announced that they had appointed Franco Baldini as Director of Football and that Steve Bould would keep his job as Assistant Manager.
