Arsene Wenger has resigned as the manager of Arsenal Football Club after sixteen years in charge. This has come as a major shock to the footballing world and many important figures have had their say:
Thierry Henry: "Absolutely gutted Wenger has left. Arsenal Legend. Nobody can replace him."
Ian Wright: "Lost for words, nobody expected him to resign. Top manager"
Sir Alex Ferguson: "Big loss for Arsenal, whoever replaces him has a lot to play for."
Emannuel Adebayor: "Now Spurs will finish above Arsenal"
Piers Morgan: "#Guardiola"
Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has released this statement:
"With regret, Arsenal Football Club can confirm that Arsene Wenger has resigned from the club for undisclosed reasons. We can only thank Arsene for the time and effort and success he brought to the club and his status as a club legend is permanent. Arsene has agreed to help the club find the perfect successor and a replacement will be named between now and the next two weeks."
As it stands the top two favourites are
Pep Guardiola 7/2
Jose Mourinho 16/1
