I've decided to take over Arsenal, replacing Arsene Wenger who was obviously sacked after failing to win a trophy in over 8 years! Wenger left me a nice leaving present of Mesut Ozil, and I will be trying to address the 3 key issues I see Arsenal fans complaining about.

Targets

1) Win a trophy as soon as possible, the fans deserve success and something to cheer about.
2) Sign big players, Ozil was Wenger's first big signing in a long time and that needs to be addressed.
3) Keeping hold of the best players, Clichy, Nasri, RVP, Henry, Song, Fabregas, Vela and Cole are the big names that have left in recent years and gone on to win trophies. This must change.

Happy with the performances, disappointed with the results. The losses came as a result of experimenting with tactics and substitutions. Mesut Ozil was by far the best player and slotted into his new role with ease, being the top scorer in pre season. Gibbs was excellent at LB! He has ousted Monreal and will start the first few game in the Premier League.

KEY BUYS
DIEGO COSTA-ATHLETICO MADRID- 32M

A striker was prioritised after the sale of Giroud, although I wanted one anyway. Costa was the perfect man, good technically but his physicality makes me sure that he will be an instant impact in the premier league. 32M was his buyout clause and I'm sure it would have cost us lots more to get him if it hadn't been there.

LUCAS ROMERO-FC PORTO- 20M (^25M)

He cost alot due to being recently signed to Porto but the signing of the Argentinian sorts my defensively minded midfielder for the next 10 years. Debating whether to put him into the team straight away, but he will become a brilliant player.

KEY SALES
OLIVIER GIROUD-AS MONACO-20M

Not my type of player at all, didn't feel he would cut it in a trophy winning team so he had to be sold. Amazed to get the amount of money I did for him, meaning we only spent 12M net to improve the stikeforce and now have Diego Costa. With Podolski, Walcott and Sanogo as backup for Costa, he won't be missed.

SERGE GNABRY-FC PORTO-LOAN

I'm aware of the mass potential this lad has, he can be a first team player in a few years but I thought he needed a season on loan. I carefully selected who he went on loan to, I wanted him to play for...

A team in a decent league.
A team that wins alot.
A team in Europe.
I accepted loan offers from Porto, Benfica, Celtic and Valencia. Then it was up to him.

Note- this had nothing to do with the Romero transfer, although I 'coincidentally' accepted the offer the same day I opened negotiations for Romero.

OTHER NEWS

Drawn against Sociedad in the champions league playoff :( They have Griezmann, and Vela (who is bound to score).

Swansea away is the first game!

Alan Curbishley and David Platt arrive as coaches.

You should beat R.Sociedad pretty easily, looking at your squad, and comparing it with sociedad's. If you have the Ligue 1 loaded i would sign guliremo ochoa from AC Ajaccio. He won't cost more than 9-10 milion and he is a good gk better than fabiański and pretty close skill to szczęsny. (in next transfer window)

Cheers for the tip! Not sure, Sociedad well balanced team. Might send scouts out for Ochoa.
